How do you know who your guardian angel is? I was reading a letter that St. Pio wrote in which he advised his addressee to get to know and listen more to her guardian angel. How does one do that?
If you mean, how do you know your guardian angel’s personal identity, you don’t, unless you happen to be favored with a special revelation—something most people are not granted. What you can know is that you have a guardian angel, who loves you, protects you from spiritual harm, and intercedes for you with God.

Not having read St. Pio’s counsel, I am unsure of what he meant to advise. All I can say is that you can pray to your guardian angel as you would to any of the saints or angels, and ask for your guardian’s protection and intercession on your behalf. I cannot recommend attempting to communicate in any way that involves invoking spirits by occult means.
