My apologies if my answer sounded uncaring … I am going through a difficult time … I will pray for you and hope that you find peace with our Lord.
I’ll pray for you. I do admire your attitude. I came to the same conclusion when I lost our first baby to a miscarriage. I lived only a mile from our parish so spent a lot of time there. That’s when I started my devotion to the Sacred Heart - there happened to be a statue in my line of sight from where I liked to kneel. I remember a non-Christian friend asking me if I was mad at God - I told her it never occurred to me as I got so much comfort from Him.

Your baby was so perfect that God decided he should be an angel … I’m sure he watches over you constantly. I think your faith is wonderful. God Bless

Humans don’t become angels, but I do believe she’s with God. 😉

My mother was told by a priest when my baby brother died that when babies die they become angels … I know I also read it somewhere else … I hope it’s true. God Bless

Badly misinformed priest! Glad my priest didn’t tell me anything like that.

The last news I received medically is that I could be on a slow crawl to a slow death … I don’t resent God for it … I look forward to the day when I can see my Lord and I will use all the time I have left on this earth to praise Him and adore Him. God is never the problem, we are.
Frankly I would love to die and chill with Jesus, it’s hard to live with myself 😦

Not trying to make your issues look trivial though, if that came across as offensive.

I’m 67 and have been retired for a long time. I’ve had plenty of time to look back and see how I have been manipulated, abused, ignored, etc. Sometimes it has taken YEARS to prove that I was right, all along, about something. Of course, I tend to concentrate on those issues where that seems to be the case.

The most difficult matter has been a month-long period recently when I couldn’t rid myself of the realization of all the hostility that there has been in my extended family – pointless hostility, Catholics not acting as Catholics should.

When I was going through this period of anger (and it is barely over) I couldn’t pray, except for short moments.

The only thing that is helping me is the sacrament of reconciliation, prayer, and just waiting on the Lord.

The story of the apostles on the sea when the storm comes up, while Jesus is sleeping, teaches us that Jesus sends us into the storms that pass over our lives. Now, as in that account, Jesus directs us to have faith and to pray for faith.

“How do you let go of resentment?” – faith

I feel like I’m allergic to prayer-actual prayer without me whining. I wouldn’t blame God for not responding, but it has been so long
Whining is a form of prayer. It is communication. Some people do not bother at all to speak with God. Honestly, forgiveness takes longer than you expect. Some people can forgive freely and easily and for others it is a cross. Honestly, it depends on what it said and done. Someone calling you a foul name, may take minutes or less to forgive. Someone raping will probably take longer. What do you define as forgiveness? If you are open and willing to forgive, the Lord will help you.
