Here is my delima: My husband and I have 2 children and we both work full time outside of the home. I usually don’t even get home from work until about 8 pm and I work Saturdays and Sundays (my days off are Monday/Tuesday). We go to mass on Sunday, but we don’t have time to do the pancake breakfast thing, and when we had, people are usually sitting with people they already know.
On Tuesday nights, I do teach Faith Formation, but because we are in a classroom alone, I don’t really get to interact with the other catechists. So…how does one go about making Catholic friends in today’s busy world??
This is becoming more important to me as my children get older. I’m already not thrilled with the choice of their Godparents (only 1 of the 4 is still a practicing Catholic), and if we have more children I would like to have good friends who I can entrust to help me raise my kids in the faith.
Does anyone else struggle with this, and what have you done to build relationships with fellow believers?
