How do you overcome this?

Like I said in my previous threads since forever ago, there are some things about the faith that keeps tormenting me. It has caused so much resentment and pain + it has been going on forever (in waves). Prayer obviously didn’t help, and I don’t even want to try anymore. It’s not something that can be talked through with someone, be it a pet rock or the pope so it really seems that there is no solution maybe besides accepting that I’ll be in hell?

I don’t know if anyone has gone through the same but a little advice would be appreciated. Practical advice, obviously. I cannot give specifics so I apologize

I would recommend discussing it with a priest in Confession.

Without more details, we cannot really do anything other than pray with you.

However, whatever it is, you can overcome it (otherwise it would not be a mortal sin, for you would not have full consent).

Please also remember that God loves you and is thinking of you. If he weren’t, you would cease to exist. Similarly, the Holy Spirit is continuously giving you the grace and the gifts you need to make the right choice. He is with you. Ask him for help.

We don’t overcome things. We do whatever it is we should be doing, and our capacity to receive grace steadily expands.

Don’t be impatient or despondent with yourself because of repetitive failure. This should not be surprising for us.

Can you go to a spiritual retreat? I find the priests there have more time to talk with the laity. I hate that I have to travel so far and spend so much money just to have access to some kind of spiritual direction. Other than that, yes, I have given up and turned to prayer. Jesus is always there and the only one willing to listen, aside from the saints.

Peter no longer feeds his sheep, they are starving and wandering aimlessly.

Since you say you are being “tormented” by these thoughts, it sounds like they are not voluntary on your part. I would suggest that you may be being tempted in this way, and the way to cope with this temptation is the same as with any other: pray to God, to Mary, Our Mother, to your Guardian Angel, to St Michael the Archangel, and any other saints you pray to. Ask them to pray for God’s protection against these evil thoughts. You may have to do this fairly frequently at first, but they should subside. Then you need to be alert to different thought-temptations coming up in the future.

Just keep in mind that we are tempted more when we are headed in the right direction!

It is difficult to put into words, but the general gist of it is that I feel that God isn’t as all-loving or as understanding (insert any feel good adjective here) as theology says he is.

Don’t really know if not liking him at the moment is a mortal sin (like, not love) but it does feel like I’m gonna pay for it soon, lol
