How do you plan to observe this Christmastide?

How do you plan to observe this Christmastide? When are you going to Mass: tonight, midnight, tomorrow morning? Do you have any traditions for Christmas or Epiphany?

I plan to go to confession, take down my Advent Wreath and put up my Nativity Scene this afternoon, go to Mass on Christmas Day, it’s Octave, Epiphany, & on the Feast of the Baptism of our Lord (I attend the OF), and pray some litanies I composed myself (Just a note, am I really the first to compose a litany of the nativity? I’ve found a litany online for just about everything. I guess somebody has to write them.)

On the secular side, I sent my Christmas cards on Monday and plan to have dinner with my family tonight (Italians always have fish on Christmas Eve) and tomorrow. We open presents on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

What are your plans?
 
I’m about to go out to finish up my Christmas shopping.

Tonight I’m taking my non-Catholic brood to Midnight Mass. You can imagine how thrilled they are. I did try to lure them with the reception afterwards, but they’re still not impressed. 😛

This talk of fish is giving me ideas though. I may make a codfish dish for dinner. 🙂
 
Watching the Papal Mass on EWTN at 4PM this afternoon and going to “Midnight Mass” at 10PM.
 
We must play it by ear. We won’t try to attend mass as it would simply be too much for my lady and I. Do want to try and watch the Papal mass, but even that will depend on DW and how she is doing.
Tomorrow I would love to be able to get up to my Mom’s for the annual clan gathering…

Other than this, we watch some TV and just count our blessings.

We are church musicians, so we have four Masses to play. I’m happy my mom is coming to Mass for the first time in years! We are going to have a feast with family and open presents today and tomorrow.
 
I’m trying to decide which mass tonight will be least crowded with “Chreasters” and go to that one. There’s a 5:30 PM and 10:30 PM mass. I would prefer mass tomorrow at 9:30 AM but it’s always crowded to the point of near shut down by the fire marshalls 😃 and that kind of annoys me.
I’ll probably go to the 10:30 mass tonight though. We have such a great choir (they actually released a Christmas CD this year!), I can’t wait to hear them sing.
 
Going to midnight mass tonight 10 and mass tomorrow at noon. 😛

Quietly. Today, at 7 PM, I will attend a candlelight meeting and dinner of my fellow alcoholics at the local Alano Club.

I will attend the 10 AM service tomorrow. (See my signature). After that I attend a family Christmas dinner with my God-Sister’s family.

I try to keep the season at a level of quiet, calm joy. To maintain an attitude of gratitude
 
I’ll be going to the children’s Mass at 4pm today and the 10:00am Mass tomorrow morning. Our Christmas Eve mass at 7pm is in spanish :confused:, so I won’t go to that one. I do so wish we had a midnight mass, but since I don’t see well to drive at night I can’t go to the one in a neighboring parish.

Tomorrow night my children are coming over for gift-giving and a light dinner of homemade soup. 🙂
 
Midnight Mass at midnight with the family then swiftly to bed to await the arrival of the red suited bearded one after celebrating the arrival of the small magnificent one then off to the city for 3 days with the family.

From this morning (25th here) and up to new years eve i will attend mass daily (do altar service from 28th to 31st), pray hard, pray the rosary, think, reflect, relax and prepare for the next steps to come.
 
Midnight Mass tonight at, you guessed it, midnight.

Coffee, lots of coffee.

Not planning on sleeping since I know I’ll be too “up” after the late night service and too tired in the morning if I do.

Then Christmas Day Mass tomorrow morning.

Then I’m going to hopefully have cooperative weather for driving to daily Mass for the rest of the season. And hopefully a cooperative sleep cycle for the rest of the year!

have been baking all day, something I have not done for years as neither of us can eat sweets, for the Christmas party for needy children on the 26th. DH is at church for all Masses as donated gifts and food are stil coming in and need to be staged and stored. 9am Mass tomorrow (with the other old folks and Anglos), will make potato pancakes for breakfast, his favorite, and then go set up tables and decorate in the pm. I think there is a Christmas dinner at the clubhouse of our retirement park at 5. In between I hope the kids call us. Have been jetting around town helping deliver gifts to needy families that have been adopted by parishioners, although DH does most of that with his team. and nursing a cold, I get sick every Christmas, hope I can sleep thru the nite, but at least I will know when Santa comes.

when the kids were home we spent most Christmases with my cousins, who worked for the Salvation Army shelters, serving dinner to the residents, and poor of the neighborhood, so it has become a tradition in itself to do something similar. Glad to say the kids still look for ways to serve in their parishes as well.
 
Finishing the last of the Christmas decoration now. Replacing the Advent Candles in the wreath with white for morning breakfast of my wifes homemade breads with custom brewed coffee. In a short while we’ll be off to midnight Mass at our local OF parish. Just to many drunks on the road to drive clear up to our FSSP parish and back at O darkthirty in the morning.

Epiphany will be down in Portland,Oregon at St. Birgitta’s, a low Mass. Then it’ll be home to undecorate the tree. Then get ready for winter. 😃
