You pronounce “Jaguar” like:
  • Jag-wire
  • Jag-yoo-ar
  • Jag- war
  • Jag-oo-ar

I think I will forego the poll and just call it ‘debt.’ Or conspicuous consumption.

Or Australian…I put jag or ar instead of jag war because I’m unsure of the OP’s pronunciation.
Jag waar perhaps would be more like it.

The British also spell and pronounce “aluminum” all wrong too

I’ve always said jag war.

I’m a bit envious of the British pronunciation.

Also aubergine sounds fancier too.

So in England is it called aubergine Parma-San?🤓

How do Americans and British pronounce this?
In Australia I’ve heard both shed-dule and ske-dule
The second is how we pronounce it in the US. The first is what I’ve heard from the British.

Do you also say lift instead of elevator? Boot instead of trunk? Petrol instead of gas? 🤔

I would say lift and elevator.
Boot yes,
Yup,petrol.

How do you pronounce bitumen ? (Bitchumen) 🤔

I used to don my gay apparel, but that means something else now too 😒.
