How do you refer to your confirmation sponsor?

I recently got confirmed and went through quite a stressful process looking for the right sponsor. Through nothing short of a miracle, I found the most amazing person. Now that I am confirmed, we spend a lot of time together. I’m curious what I would refer to her. Is there a special title for one’s confirmation sponsor? And how would a sponsor refer to his/her confirmation candidate?

There is no special honorific given to a confirmation sponsor or to the person sponsored unless there is some other pre-existing relationship (e.g., aunt/uncle, cousin, grandparent). In your case, it sounds as though this person is simply your friend.
