You do not respond to such idiotic ideas. A person that makes such statements is completely ignorant of Church history, tradition, and scripture. Just love them as any good Christian would.

Where did you hear this? I wouldn’t give it a second thought.

I always asked those with claims like this…How do they know? How was it revealed to them?

And how do they know it is not satan masking as an angel of light that revealed it to them?

Then I cite this example of Paul of what a Biblical revelation pattern should be, they cannot argue against it, it is in the Bible:

Galatians 2:2 I went in response to a revelation and, meeting privately with those esteemed as leaders, I presented to them the gospel that I preach among the Gentiles. I wanted to be sure I was not running and had not been running my race in vain.

The revelation to Paul was to meet and get assurance from the Apostles. So how does their claim meet this example?

LOL My grandmother heard it from someone on TBN.
I don’t think the Holy Spirit has illuminated TBN with that type of information. I was actually reading a report yesterday in regards to financial situations.

By the looks of one of their leaders, I would very respectfully tell her, ma’am look in the mirror, you don’t quite look prophetic, on the contrary.

Personally, I respond to such claims by trying not to laugh too hard in front of the person who made it.

Sometimes I don’t do that good of a job.

Seriously though, we’ve had a long history of people claiming that someone was the anti-Christ and that the world would end, and they’ve all been wrong. It’s a fruitless game. The world will end eventually, and we should be prepared, but there’s no reason to create conspiracy theories that pretend to tell us exactly when it will occur.

I would probably look a bit startled and then burst out laughing at the idea.

Really? How many end of the world claims have there been? I am only 34 I know we have had a ton of “So Called” anti-christs thru out history. As a matter of fact, isn’t our president one?

LOL

Yes he is lol, even Bush was one, Saddam Hussein, the guy from Iran (can’t get his name now lol), everyone at one point or another has had the label as the antichrist. Shows how much we know. The only person who has the right to call somebody like that is God, if we do it were hating thy neighbor, and like jesus told us before he died, I give you 2 new commandments, 1 of which is love another the way I love you

I would respond with a quote from Jesus himself “And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” Matthew 16:18

Young,

Nah,

According to the Westminster Confession of Faith…the Pope then was the Anti-Christ…

and acccording to the

6th point of Calvinism that confirms that the Anti-Christ came 500 years ago…

the Anti-Christ position has already been filled…😃

Don’t worry.

The next pope will be chosen more for his conservatism and ability to maintain a staus quo, rather than an ability to move the church forward in any meaningful way. The old prejudices, woman, sexuality etc,. will remain.

Nope, because he doesn’t deny that Jesus is the Christ which is the definition of the anti-Christ given in John’s Epistle (the only place where the term anti-christ occurs.)

The Evangelicals who make these arguments are following a very old tradition of associating the anti-Christ with whatever beliefs conflict with ones own. The fact is the term Anti-Christ appears nowhere in Revelation which is where all this end-of-times stuff is located.
However, the Protestant idea that the Pope is the Anti-Christ goes back to Luther himself. Once he came to the conclusion that the Pope was not infallible (which followed closely upon his reading about Lorenzo Da Valla’s work on the Donation of Constantine) he had to conclude that an usurper had seized the throne of Christ. In other words, if the Pope was not the Vicar of Christ, he had to be Anti-Christ.
But here is where Luther’s belief differs from that of latter-day evangelicals. Luther’s belief that the Pope was the anti-Christ is based on the premise that the Catholic Church is the real Church. Most Protestants today wouldn’t agree with that presumption.

There is a Irish bishop from around 600 years ago according to mike gendron that has prophiced all of the popes names since then and the next is the anti Christ and the next popes name will be peterus romanos
