Was that a Saturday or a Sunday?
Neither, it was the 7th day (even unto even, sunset to sunset), according to scripture, which does not in technicality align with either the Roman time (midnight to midnight) of Sunday or Saturday (both terms never used in scripture).

Was it the Sabbath, beginning at sunset on Friday and ending at sunset in Saturday?

I would like to thank the OP for the opportunity to have shared my answer (unlike others) from scripture. I pray that the answers were beneficial. Thank you for all those who took the time to consider those replies in detail.

Unnecessary servile work is forbidden on Sundays and HDO. My mom NEVER washed clothes on Sundays. I always try to get my washing in during the week too.

Agreed. I find the best way to be transparent about your beliefs is to broadcast them in your name! (To be clear though, I’m a 3.8 pointer - “TULi” just didn’t sound right though)

Sabbath is the last day of the week.

Sunday, The Lord’s Day, is the first day of the week.

Yes, the Hebrew name for Sunday is simply yom rishon, “first day.”

Catholics do NOT keep the Sabbath. The Sabbath is Jewish. Sunday is not the Sabbath.
Catholics keep the Lord’s Day which is Sunday.
Yep. That is what the SDA teach. That in 325ad. Or about. That it became against the law to keep jewish beliefs and ceremonies.
Empire Constine changed the law. And prohibited Saturday Sabbath.
