Not how do you believe He is, but the image you tend to have of Him even if you know it is not right. Personally, I sometimes see God as someone:

-who doesn’t speak to me very often;
-who spies on me to see if I will fail;
-who, if I will serve with my whole heart, will make me suffer more and more, because those who loved Him the most also suffered the most;
-who seems very far away…

And I know that for the most part this is untrue, that I project on God some of my struggles and frustrations. I think it is important to have a realistic view of God and not no to mold Him according to our mind.

-who doesn’t speak to me very often;
It does speak to you through the gifts hidden in nature.
-who spies on me to see if I will fail;
Who knows what is in our minds (non-local mind).
-who, if I will serve with my whole heart, will make me suffer more and more, because
those who loved Him the most also suffered the most;
This, we will never know.
-who seems very far away…
Yes.

How I view God is

One who loves me
He makes some of my life hard to make me a better person
He forgives me if I fall
He is never far even when I think he is

I see God as a Father that loves me enough to let me make my own choices, even if they are wrong, and to then pick me up, clean me up, forgive me, and let me try again, and again, and again. Eventually, maybe, I’ll get it right. But even if I don’t, He will always be there to forgive me. And He’s always there for you too.

The majority of my thoughts about God are negative. Ultimately, I see him as the source of my problems simply because his will was that it was a grand idea that Robertanthony should be born, even though Robertanthony would experience life as a bitter pill that is just not worth the trouble. I see him as a possessive tyrant who gives us no choice but to love him or to suffer eternally, given that, his “gift” of life is really something radically different from a gift, unless you love him madly. Last thing, how would you call someone who goes around screaming that he loves and cares about you, has the power to help you and it’s not gonna take him any effort at all, could easily get you rid of all that torments you in a flash, yet doesn’t? That he created me out of love* (oh please) knowing loving him would not be possible for me is the icing on the cake. That he chose eternal hell instead of simple annihilation also speaks volume about him, you know, we all agree that a couple of mortal sins should be paid for by billions x billlions of years of despair and torment, right? The prodigal son story was just a way to endear us, let’s call it propaganda.

Lastly, I’d love to be in a position to swap places with God so I could enjoy hearing him crying and begging me thinking I cared, and I’d laugh hysterically, thinking, “You really believed all this talk about my love for you!?!” We could have had a truly loving and just god that would have punished final impenitence with death/eternal sleep/annihilation, but we have a harsher version, sadly. If this God is perfect, then most people’s concept of perfection falls apart.

*If “love” is defined by willing what is best for the other, then God did not create any of the souls currently in hell out of love, because he knew beforehand that being created would be their demise. Free-will is just a smoke-screen argument, you create someone who will utlimately be in horrendous torment and despair forever, and you’ll be the one sustaining them to experience said torment and despair. And you knew all that yet created that person out of “love”…There are things that just don’t add up about this God, perhaps it’s the marketing team, or perhaps God is incoherent.

I sympathize totally with Robert Anthony above. I think you’re not far from a great truth, spiritually- “Whoever hates his life in this world, the same will inherit eternal life.”

There are three particular images of God I like to use when meditating:
  1. An infinite expanse of black nothingness, past the edge of the universe. Totally silent, totally empty, totally beyond…
  2. A self enclosed sphere of cold white light, perfectly impassive, free from all blemish, unpolluted by will, knowledge, etc. Unpolluted even by existence.
  3. Jesus Christ, carrying the Cross, abandoned by all, wounded and naked, besmeared with mud, mocked, whipped, His Mother the Blessed Virgin Mary, standing by in tears, the unspeakable sorrow and pain of each feeding itself in an infinite feedback loop of heart-breaking anguish.

I see God as
  • A loving father with great patience towards me.
  • Comfort when I need it. A kick in the pants when I need that.
  • Pure Love.
Peace

The vision of Jesus is unimaginable deep Peace-Certitude. The King of Kings, and Lord of Lords, stands hands folded across His waist, right knee slightly bent, in a seamless white tunic. He reveals the unutterable all powerful, Almighty Father. He cannot be moved by all the power in the cosmos, but will move for Love of you. The Holy Spirit is joy beyond all joy and bliss beyond all bliss. His eyes glisten and his smile broad. He is robed in light. He speaks the unquestionable Truth. Jesus Christ Is Our Father’s Simple Plan For Salvation Since Before Time Began!
In Him we live and move and have our being. You haven’t a single thought of which He is unaware. He speaks with us even as we sleep. When you fall He makes haste to help you. If you take a single step on your own in your entire life He is so pleased that His Joy redounds to all creation. Not a single displeasure in your life has gone unnoticed. Your slightest inconvenience joined to the cross will have incomprehensible merit.
No spouse, child, or parent is closer or loves you more. In the true God-Man Jesus, time and “no-time” embrace. Go to mass. Enter the prayer with your whole being. Be transfigured by your share in the Eucharist. Then you will see Him plainly in all that exists.

Peace

God, " is who he is ", human intellect has no home with him, our highest wisdom is his foolishness,{ whatever that means} and dont forget that Jesus has revenge on his mind, even when it comes to christian`s also,

" don`t be so fool hardy " .

Enjoy your day , , ,

For me, God protects me, blesses me, loves me, guides me, leads me, watches me (for my own sake, not to spy) and who is always with me. He is never far away, for He is in my soul, my spirit and heart.

  • I see God as a living light who speaks in silence and nature.
  • God inspires. And so we have scripture.
  • For those with a capacity to listen God also instructs in the heart.
  • God’s biggest obstacles are our egos and fears.
