Jesus will come back the same way He ascended -
Acts 1
11"Men of Galilee," they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”
… and when that happens - every eye will see Him!
Revelation 1:7
Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen.
Exciting stuff! How do you think that will happen?

Does ‘every eye’ mean every eye within proximity of the ‘Descension’ or every eye in that everyone in the world will see it?

Do you think every one will get the same vision at the same time or … as how I think it will all take place -

It will probably occur at a big news event, like the installation of a new pope, or the burial of a pope, all the big media giants will be present CNN, BBC (or whatever the future equivalent will be). Of course the focus won’t be the second coming, of course, because no one knows the hour, since the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.

Everyone will probably have access to some form of TV. Other than those who are sleeping, most everyone else will probably be watching the big news event …or have it playing in the background.

Suddenly … there’re a loud trumpet blasts … everyone looks up … 'Praise be to God, it’s Jesus and millions of angels coming through the clouds!"

All the cameras pan up immediately. New flashes on all channels. The process takes a while. Whoever is sleeping is woken up by friends and relatives who catching some late night TV, or perhaps the loud trupet blasts wakes them … and in their panic, they check the news channels …

There is pandemonium. Phone networks are flooded. Communication lines are strained.

Everyone is curious to know where Jesus is ‘landing’ (even if His feet don’t actually touch the ground)

He descends to St Peter’s square (of course 😉 ). The pope (or cardinals) looks shocked. (I don’t care how strong your faith, this is gonna shock you). Jesus will probably not go “I’m baaaaack”, but whatever He does say will essentially have that effect.😛

People from other religions and Christian denominations are flabbergasted. (Blooming Catholics were right, afterall! Drats!)

Some doubt the authenticity of it all …

The rest of the Book of Revelation play out.

Man … somebody make a movie out of this!

Frankly I don’t care. I don’t spend time worrying about it, and I believe it’ll probably happen long after I’m dead. I just try to get my butt right with God and worry about what happens with that later. Whether it happens sooner or later, the goal is to get into Heaven with God, not see the 2nd coming, imo.

I find when I take this attitude with protestants they can’t stand it. Especially baptists, who continually tell me the Jesus will come again soon. I think they spend too much time worrying about it, and worshipping God so they get raptured away. Not because they want to be closer to Him and follow the word and teachings of Jesus.

But I do know, when it happens it will be glorious for some, and agony for others. I want to be on the glorious side.

I sometimes let myself imagine what it will be like. Part of me thinks “what is Jesus waiting for?” and part of me thinks, “Oh Lord, not yet!”. In this age of amazing visual imagery, it’s hard not to try and picture what His return will be like. I too have often wondered if literally every eye will see Him at the same time and what would that look like? It’s quite something to ponder. And we will see it, either in this life or the next!

Sorry to ruin the fun, but there probably won’t be time to “see” anything play out. In contrast to those of the johnny-come-lately (less than 150 year old theology) “Left Behind” and “Late Great Planet Earth” ilk, the Church has always believed that the Second Coming and the end of the world will happen simultaneously – “in the wink of an eye” say the Scriptures. There won’t be this rapture, then tribulation, then battle of Armageddon, then 1000 year reign nonsense – when the time is approaching and the Church has gone through it’s final test, then --BANG-- Christ will come and that will be it. Judgement for all and a new heaven and a new earth forever. Period.

As the Catechism of the Catholic Church says:
**The glorious advent of Christ, the hope of Israel **
673 Since the Ascension Christ’s coming in glory has been imminent, even though “it is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has fixed by his own authority.”. This eschatological coming could be accomplished at any moment, even if both it and the final trial that will precede it are “delayed”.
**The Church’s ultimate trial **
675 Before Christ’s second coming the Church must pass through a final trial that will shake the faith of many believers. The persecution that accompanies her pilgrimage on earth will unveil the “mystery of iniquity” in the form of a religious deception offering men an apparent solution to their problems at the price of apostasy from the truth. The supreme religious deception is that of the Antichrist, a pseudo-messianism by which man glorifies himself in place of God and of his Messiah come in the flesh.
676 The Antichrist’s deception already begins to take shape in the world every time the claim is made to realize within history that messianic hope which can only be realized beyond history through the eschatological judgment. The Church has rejected even modified forms of this falsification of the kingdom to come under the name of millenarianism, especially the “intrinsically perverse” political form of a secular messianism.
677 The Church will enter the glory of the kingdom only through this final Passover, when she will follow her Lord in his death and Resurrection. The kingdom will be fulfilled, then, not by a historic triumph of the Church through a progressive ascendancy, but only by God’s victory over the final unleashing of evil, which will cause his Bride to come down from heaven. God’s triumph over the revolt of evil will take the form of the Last Judgment after the final cosmic upheaval of this passing world.
