How do you trust God?

Ive been praying lately that He will help me to trust Him. Its not that i dont want to trust him… its just ive had problems trusting people in the past. Im not sure how to trust God. I dont mean trust as in, “your not going to steele my money” kind of trust… i guess what I want to know is how do YOU trust in God?

also other loose qustions ive been meanng to ask…

whats the differnce between Jesus and Christ and God the Father and the Holy Spirit. Are they ALL Christ? i know the whole trinity thing, but why do we call Jesus, Christ. and why in the bible does it say, Christ Jesus? instead of Jesus Christ? they use them interchangebly?

whats Marys last name? and Joseph, and etc… I honestly thought that there last name was Christ, at one point in my life, so now that i Know that thats not true…who decided to call him Christ? like i guess what im asking is, what does Christ mean? I know i know my qustion is confuseing but im not sure as to how to ask this is christ the name of the father, as jesus is the name of the son?..do you know what i mean?

Hi,

Christ only refers to Jesus, not the Father, and it means that He is the Messiah, or the Annointed One. Jesus is His name, and Christ describes who He is. 🙂 I think Jesus means “God is with us” or “God who saves”… so His full name means: The Annointed One of God who saves. 🙂

I hope someone can clarify this further… I’m not entirely sure

We don’t know what Mary’s or Joseph’s last names were…

regarding trust in God, - I think it’s important to really understand that God is not like people… people may have hurt us in the past, but God is not like that, we can trust Him. Also, importantly, He died for us, so of course we can trust Him 🙂 sometimes it’s really difficult, but it’s precisely those times that help our faith grow… (when it’s difficult to have faith, but we choose it anyways)

I think the more we understand God’s love, the more we’re able to trust Him. (and to love Him as well). It might help to meditate on the Passion, on the Eucharist, go to Adoration, read books by the Saints…

God bless 🙂

Back then, there were no last names. It was “Jesus the son of Joseph the carpenter”
Christ means “The Anointed One” in the Holy Trinity, Jesus was Anointed to become man.

That’s why they call Him: “The Anointed Jesus” or “Jesus the Anointed One.”

Regarding trust in God:

I recommend you reading “The Diary of St. Faustina” she was a saint to whom appeared Jesus almost everyday. He told her to write of all this, His mercy and the trust He wants us to have in Him. I believe it can really help you. It changed my life and that of my family when we read it. Jesus said it would change lives.

Blessings and keep us posted,
Adi

How do you trust God?

Ive been praying lately that He will help me to trust Him. Its not that i dont want to trust him… its just ive had problems trusting people in the past. Im not sure how to trust God. This is the crux of it for me…I have, in the past, been hurt very badly by someone close to me. It was then that I started to learn how to trust God. The difference is that God is not human, cannot make mistakes, and does not lie or change. God is 100% trustworthy. The trouble we have trusting is all because of our own weakness.

It takes time and practice. I think the best way to start is to tell God you have trouble trusting Him, and ask Him for the grace to trust. It will probably not happen immediately, but you will make progress.

A very wise and holy priest once told me “we learn trust by trusting and finding the object of our trust to be trustworthy.” Well, God is always trustworthy, so really all we have to do is keep trying.

An important caveat…this does not mean you’re always going to be happy in this life, or get everything you want, or that all your prayers will be answered with the answer you were expecting. But God will take care of you and make sure you get what you need. Sometimes we need a failure to teach us to get up and try again. Sometimes we need to be hungry in order to learn compassion for others who are hungry. Sometimes God allows our hearts to be broken so we will swallow our pride and lean on Him.

How do you trust God?
Implicitly.

God (as has been stated above) is perfect-how can one not trust him without fail? It is God who has breathed his own breath into each of us, created us all in his image, made covenant after covenant with us in order to preserve his creations-us.

Again (as previously stated), it is the PEOPLE with whom trust is most difficult to accept. By our very nature, we are fallible, given to imperfection and shortsighted.

But there is hope! We are all children of God…

And if one is a child of God, then one has the capacity to be trusted-not that they always come through-but God himself is always on our side. So I place my trust in him, and even through the failings of my fellow human beings, I find that I can say ‘LORD, I trust in you!’

The more you trust God and the closer you stay to Him, the better life gets. 🙂

Not necessarily outside life, but the inside life, so that whatever happens outside, it’s fine because you’re with God. Often God will take you through hard times to wake you up to the fact you need to change some sinful or bad behaviors, because otherwise you’re not going to listen or do it.

But as long as you stay close, you’ll come through it all fine. 🙂

And get to the point where you love the cross.
