How does a disabled person confess?

I haven’t gone to confession in a long while and I feel the need to go. I also feel I might be in the confessional for more than just a few minutes. I am handicapped though and cannot kneel for more than a minute. Do I immediately tell the priest I am handicapped?

If you don’t mind confessing face-to-face, there should be a chair in the confessional across from the priest in which you can sit. If you prefer to confess anonymously and the confessionals in your parish don’t have a chair on the penitent’s side of the screen, ask your parish about installing them in the confessionals for the disabled who would like to confess anonymously.
