How does Apostolic Succession dictate how we interpret the bible?

In another thread, i asked how we interpret the bible correctly. and someone told me that catholics rely on apostolic succession, and i understand that. but how does the doctrine shape the way we interpret the bible? this is what i dont understand the most.

Along with Apostolic Succession, we have the Magisterium and also Tradition so additionally we have “helps” in interpreting Scripture in the way it was intended.

I would suppose that they meant we rely on the teaching authority of the Church (also known as the Magisterium of the Church). I’m not sure why they used the term apostolic succession, except that the Church’s teaching authority is handed down from the apostles.

From the Catechism of the Catholic Church (in a section on criteria for interpreting Scripture in accordance with the Spirit who inspired it):

113 2. Read the Scripture within “the living Tradition of the whole Church.” According to a saying of the Fathers, Sacred Scripture is written principally in the Church’s heart rather than in documents and records, for the Church carries in her Tradition the living memorial of God’s Word, and it is the Holy Spirit who gives her the spiritual interpretation of the Scripture (“according to the spiritual meaning which the Spirit grants to the Church”).
