How does Christ's resurrection prove that he is God?

I don’t fully understand how Conquering death = Being God.

Could it be that this is just a great gift given to Jesus to be able to resurrect and conquer death? It proves he is a supernatural entity, but I’m not seeing the irrefutable proof that this makes him God.

While I do believe Jesus is God, I never understood the resurrection as being a ‘case closed’ type of proof that he is actually God.

Can someone help me clarify this? I want to have more trust that he is God.

Jesus’ resurrection gives us reason to believe that what he said is true and not a lie. He said “If you have seen me, you have seen the Father.” and “I and the Father are one.” and “Before Abraham was, I AM.”

The story is just a beautiful work of art, and God is the author; God is an artist.

A story may or may not be true.

So, there is no proof. Just evidence.

“Admire the artist”

The story of Jesus concerns God becoming man, defeating evil, and also that final of man’s destinies, death.

Jesus Himself and the apostles and tradition tells us He is truly who He says He is, which is God the Son.

Revised … simpler answer… Conquering death for all mankind? Taking on all men’s sins, is a tall order for me or you lol. He did battle with his most powerful adversary, who he created, we individuals are helpless against Satan, but with Christ nothing can touch us

Ps Jehovah witness say similar, they think Jesus isn’t god but archangel Michael, but two angels pitted against each other wouldnt lead to victory because god is the creator he alone has power to give life and overcome sin the wages being death.

We can of course pray to archangel Michael for help with everyday spiritual battles, but only through the power of Jesus is this possible.

If Jesus is not active in His resurrection, then it is God the Father, alone, apart from Jesus, who saves.

This would be particularly problematic, were it true: it would mean that Jesus’ sacrifice is unnecessary and superfluous! It would mean that it’s all a farce, and that God could’ve done it without Jesus!

So, no… it’s not the case that this is true. Jesus is resurrected. He is God. Anything short of that makes Jesus a liar.

God is at the top of the hierarchy, he is not of creation, he alone can create and destroy, we including all the angels are his creation, he creates he giveth and he taketh the away, it is his realm alone, I guess the same supernatural power of taking all sins and conquering death can only be done by god, we are limited and so are even the angels, he alone is omnipotent.

Basically, we don’t have power over death… and that’s obvious. Then, something greater than death can only have power over death. So, if Jesus died and resurrected and ascended he must be greater than death.

I think it’s great you would investigate this question.

The short version is “It ain’t trash talk if you can back it up”. No other prophet of founder of a religion resurrected, let alone declared that they would be killed, then resurrect, and then do it. Only someone who has power over life could make that claim. The only one with power over life is the one who created it, meaning God.

I like the way you take the other side of the coin approach by saying “power over life”. Heck, if he has power over death, he’s got to have power over life. Very authoritative.
