👍 Yep!

I think most women want manly men. I don’t know of any girl who says that her ideal boyfriend/husband is a sissy. lol.
If the man is a devout Catholic, why should his being a so-called “sissy” matter at all?

Because you can be a devout Catholic despite being a hefty bunch of other, less attractive things, such as looking like a woman, talking like a woman, acting like a woman etc.

I’m not sure I see the connection between my comment and your response.

I also find that my female friends tend to be those in which I have zero romantic interest in, regardless of age. It’s too difficult to be friends with women you like.

I implore you, you MUST, MUST, MUST do everything in your power to move out of your parents’ house. In the non-Anglo-American world, living with one’s family is not a big deal. But in the Anglo-American world we idolize our independence (one must move out at age 18 right?), and women raise a red flag if a man lives with his parents beyond college age. Even Christian women who save sex for marriage raise this red flag.

As a Korean-American I question this aspect of Anglo-American culture, since we Koreans are family-oriented. But you have two choices: accept it, or change countries.

In addition, fathers have a tendency to talk harshly to their children “for their benefit”, but this can have the effect of bringing you down. Getting away from dad may help your self-confidence.

A year ago I was jobless, working as a volunteer, and living at home. I knew I was ineligible to date, and I was right. For example, a woman who I liked who was totally into me (an Ironwoman who’s got a rock-solid body, and an animal trainer!) changed her mind when she found out I lived at home. She accused me of messing with her mind, and got angry at me. The only success with dating while living at home was with a woman I didn’t even like, but I just wanted something, anything to break my five-year streak of nothing beyond a second date.

Since finding a job and moving out to New Mexico about a year ago I have had 4-5 women be interested in me. Unfortunately as you know, the latest breakup has been very painful. But I can still say that moving out of home has made a night-and-day difference in terms of eligibility.

But, there is one last thing you can do. If you live in an expensive city such as Los Angeles or New York, there are probably women in the same situation as you. I know many 30-something natives of LA who live at home. (Contrary to popular belief, there are millions of Los Angeles natives!) Date a woman who lives at home.
Yes, you’re right. Now that the economy is so bad, living at home is less of a strike against you than it was, because the women can’t afford to move out of* their *parents’ houses, either! But yes, you’re probably better off rooming with other guys that living with your parents, if you can find men your own age who are adult enough to make good rommates.

If you’re going to be the exception, be the exception that proves the rule–that is, be one of those guys who live at home but do their own laundry, save their money instead of using their rent-free status to buy themselves a bunch of toys, don’t idle around at home like they were still kids, but act like an adult and expect themselves to pitch in with the work without being told. The exceptions prove the rule because yes, a guy who still lives with his mother is going to be considered a guy who wants some woman to be his mom while he continues to be a boy until proven otherwise. Whether you live at home or in your own place, it will be your work to show that living with you will be living with an adult. A guy, yes, but an adult guy.

Well, I do actually pay rent, but my dad is forced or chooses to finance his family members when they run out of money as we struggle financially. A lot of it is poor choices, and a combo of other factors.

As a woman, I will say, confidence is really important. If we sense a lack of confidence, we tend to go the other way.
Perhaps before pursuing any type of relationship, maybe you need to work on yourself. And this http://attractthemnow.net/getthegirl will help you with understanding what women really want.
As far as marriage, if you don’t think you have anything to offer them, then you need not worry about dating if you think women don’t want marriage.
And as far as that goes, there was a time after my past relationship, I I couldn’t even think about getting married again. Now, I’m ready to think of a long term relationship. So, yes, now I want that guy who can support me, will be there for me unconditionally.

Maybe part of it is there are different stages we all go through. If you really have to date right now, you may want to find those women that are not looking for the long term until you are feeling confident about what you can offer.

Good luck

I agree with those who say living in your parents’ home is really a turnoff for women. Almost nothing is worse in their eyes.

Surely, something can be done about that. Even the worst kind of apartment can be “manned up” without spending a lot of money on it. Women expect mens’ apartments to be kind of spartan, and aren’t always too impressed with a man who lavishes money on decor for himself. They want to design and decorate their future homes, not have some man do it.

I’m with those that advocate “l’audace, l’audace, toujours l’audace!” It has been decades since I dated (happily married, lo, these many years) but I finally figured out that boldness can be met with rejection, but it is the surest key to success. I don’t mean being churlish or making a nuisance of oneself…just being bold while simultaneously being admiring and at ease. Some of the most outrageous starting lines will do. One doesn’t have to be Don Juan. “Do you mind if I sit here for a moment; that is, if you’re not engaged or in love, in which case I expect you would”. An intro like that, as bad as it sounds, will get a smile or chuckle, at least a tacit disclosure of status and almost always a non-objection. Generally speaking, unless women are engaged, in love, in a bad mood, or just hate men, they don’t mind a man’s company or conversation and are always at least tentatively interested. They’re almost always courteous even when they turn you down. If one does, well, over half the population is female, after all.

Early on, a man NEVER talks about himself, but always about the woman, and a man needs to pay attention to little things; possibly points of interest or pride the woman has. “Pardon my being intrusive, but are you an athlete of some sort? You do have that appearance, you know.” (even if she doesn’t) “Do you work here? Oh? What do you do here? Now that’s interesting, did you go through special training or education for that? Sounds like it would require it.”

Down the way in the conversation, one might say “It has really been interesting talking to you. I enjoyed it a great deal. Would you care to continue the conversation at lunch tomorrow…my treat?” If she protests that she ought to pay as well, one says: “oh, no, no, no. Since I’m the one who invited you, it would be unconscionable if I allowed you to pay. When we dine at the most expensive restaurant in town, I’ll let you pay. (laugh)”

As I said, it has been a long time since I dated, but I doubt women have really changed very much.

Financial matters are ALWAYS your own business, but one might give hints if the inquiry is obvious. “Oh no, I would hardly describe myself as wealthy. I do save my money and have not been ashamed of the result, but gee, what really qualifies for wealth nowadays with all the super-wealthy we hear about incessantly?”

“Am I a skinflint? (in response if she gets suspicious that you might be) Oh, I wouldn’t say that about myself, but someday if I marry and we start a family, it will take everything I can make or save to make a decent life for them. I don’t really need a lot of spending now, and there’s not so very much I need right now anyway.”

And as a bachelor, one ABSOLUTELY should save every nickel he can. Women on here might throw stones at me for this, but women are “nest builders”. So even a modest head start in family formation makes a difference to them. And if it takes getting a second job now, then do it. Better than an evening in front of the TV, and besides, lots of times one meets women in a job of nearly any sort. Lightning can come out of a clear sky.

This will really sound terrible, but I sometimes went to Mass in working-class parishes. Girls from working-class families have low financial expectations because they have lived the life. And yes, I didn’t hesitate to strike up conversations with women coming out of church. I used to go to get “cold call” dates at hospital nursing schools. Most of those women don’t have anything and expect to work hard to be able to live at all. Some of them were strikingly pretty. Never did I fail to get a date doing “cold calls”. If I was dating now, I would also go to the vocational schools, and for the very same reason. Do you really think all those women really want to be law enforcement officers or dental hygienists without families forever?

But that’s not to say one should disdain middle class or even wealthy women. Sometimes wealthy women are the loneliest of all because most men are afraid of them. They’re “stuck in their class”, so to speak, and it’s a rare atmosphere there. Sometimes, if they’re wealthy enough, they don’t know enough “real men” in their circles to fill a thimble.

And do NOT assume that even hostility means hopelessness…as long as you can break through it. My wife and I hated each other at first. She thought I was vain and a rounder, and she was right. I was then hustling other women at a party, and she blew me to pieces in front of the other women. She really let me have it. I took her aside and we entered an agreement that she would be the exception…that I would not be deceptive or vain with her alone. We made peace, and she became my “confidante”. In fact, I told her that’s what she was. Over time, we became friends, then admitted to each other that we loved each other.

Probably none of this seems helpful, but it might be someday. Good luck!

No it’s not like Hollywood at all. Maybe for some it can be but in my experience dating has been more of a pain then a pleasure. I don’t know what you’re doing to scare the ladies off but most women want to marry. It’s the men that usually seem to flea at the mere mention of the word.

If you have insecurities or self esteem problems folks will pick up on it. You can’t always hide it and that’s kind of a turn off for people. If your trying too hard to be manly that could be a turn off as well.

I would go back to the begining and be yourself vs trying to be this or that. Be respectful, considerate, creative, honest, kind and faithful to GOD all these things are attributes women look for but it you don’t have them already maybe just strive to be a better person first and worry about dating later. I would suggest doing volunteer work and getting to know people at a ground level not worrying about dating. Make friends and move on from there if you see somone who interests you go slowly, Do little humble gentle things to gain their notice. If they are interested they will let you know if not then at the very least you’ve done a respectful sincere thing for another person at worst.

Hope that helps.
