How does one practice humility?

I am wondering how can/ does one practice in the virtue of humility? Examples? What do you do?

Humility ? Is being Humble in all you do…
Not wanting reward or recognition for helping others
Having a modest view of your own importance ,
Putting others before yourself
 
Personally, I make it a habit to listen with patience to fools. I also thank God for the enormous gifts he has bestowed on me; an almost overwhelming attractive charisma coupled with a warm generous spirit and a fine intellect. I do not attempt to correct unnecessarily those that are so obviously wrong in mind and will, but pray for their deliverance from their stupidity and error. I admonish with the heart of a father those that so clearly fail in their personal path to God’s will and thank Him every day that He allows me to move so often effortlessly in His path of Wisdom and Grace. LOL
In those short periods of clarity from such pharisaic delusions, I fall upon His mercy hoping my childish failures will be forgotten in His great love for his fallen creation. Thankfully, I have a wife who keeps me humble by continuing to outline my failures… every single unceasing day! ( And I continue to love her as my one great joy.)

Hello,
I don’t practice humility very well, but each day there are ample opportunities. One way is to try to resist the urge to get agitated/angry when someone I’m talking to stops listening because someone else starts to speak, or their phone rings and they feel the need to answer it, or as I’m speaking they are texted and that is more important than the person in front of them(me). These are all ways I’ve been humiliated daily for years. When I send an email or text to a family member and never receive a reply-being ignored is very humiliating and as such is an awesome teaching in humility if we allow it to be. The practice in my view is to be patient and tolerant. Blessings to you and yours.
