I think you have an ulterior motive here, and are trying to set up for an argument or debate by asking leading questions. Why don’t you just get to the point? Your tactic is an old one and easily sniffable, and tiresome.

We can’t put being a member of the Catholic Church and being a Christian into seperate categories and identify ourselves as first being one and second being the other. That is a false dichotomy. Catholics are Christians. I don’t think of myself as Catholic first and Christian second, and I am willing to bet that if they reflect upon it a bit, most Catholics wouldn’t either, because it is not possible to separate the two. Think about it.

You have just confirmed my suspicions–see post #46. I don’t respect that sort of tactic. Makes me question your integrity. Learn to say what you have to say, not hide behind leading questions. The JW’s and Mormons are famous for asking leading questions–do you want to sound like them?

I am not a Roman Catholic though. The only Roman Catholic belongs to the Diocese of Rome. I am a Catholic in Communion with Rome, the Holy Father, the Pope. I belong to the Latin Rite. There are 23 sui ierus churches which are part of the catholic communion in Communion with His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI. These include ancient Indian sees, ancient African sees, ancient Greek sees, both Eastern and Oriental.

Please show me how Catholicism isn’t Christian and denies fundamental Christian truths such as Salvific Crucifixion, the Blessed Trinity, God the Father Son & Holy Spirit, Holy Baptism, Holy Communion, one Sacramental Marriage one lifetime, the only church that’s truly Pro Life, anti fetal stem cell research, pro family and anti contraception? Your faith however appears that it needs leading questions to set up a victim for your heretical arguments. If you are not validly baptized in the trinitarian formula, you are not considered a Christian. He you are validly baptized, as we have stated before, then you are a Christian. But whether or not you are practicing the fullness of the faith that was passed on by Christ is another questions. No you are not in the one true Church. Then you fall under the category of separated bretheren. That means your soul is in God’s hands and only the Father knows your fate in the end. We have no authority to state your salvation. But we do know that if we reverted to early church teachings to categorize you you’d fall under the category that practice a heretical belief. Seek out your faith with fear and trembling, I assure you, a transformed Catholic does. We fear that our sins may cause others to sin, the ripple effect of our wrong doings that will be judged in the end. Did my actions of …say peeking at a girl on the beech cause her to sin or me to sin and cause strife in my marraige? Did overly spanking my children to the point of sinfulness cause my children to loose faith in me and thus in God? Did my posting on this baord take up my time so much that I failed to read our children’s nightly scripture and pray? All of these things not only effect me and the childrfen or wife and other girl, but their childrfen, families, friends, etc. Be careful how far you stick your neck out on the chopping block. One day the Lord will call into play not only us, but you as well and ask why you failed to study when those Catholics were trying to teach you. It’s in your court. I will always study your belief system. I’ve done it since a child. I’m not exactly young anymore either. But it’s never to late to learn…as I learn all the time. in as much as Catholics think of themselves as Catholics first and humans second. it’s obvious we are humans, so it’s ridiculous to need to specify it. sadly, there are people who are just that ignorant to Christianity.
“Catholics are human? let’s call them Catholic-humans. human-Catholics? look, a can!”

fyi for any knit-pickers, this does not in any way place the importance of Christ second, it just means that it is obvious Catholics are Christians, but is used to differentiate us from protestants and Orthodox.
