What we need most in order to make progress is to be silent before this great God with our appetite and with our tongue, for the language he best hears is silent love.

Good book by Cardinal Sarah https://www.ignatius.com/The-Power-of-Silence-P1989.aspx

I’m blessed to have a parish here in town open 24/7. Perpetual Adoration Chapel there as well. Many shrines and life-size statuary.

It’s my sanctuary from the world.

I’m thinking about going down there here in a few minutes.

This is in the St Gregory side chapel.

One thing I’ve been forcing myself to do…l
I think it’s from the book of James …
Be quick to listen ( Silence ) and slow to speak ( more silence )

I’ll be honest, it’s hard for me to really appreciate silence unless it’s actual silence. Most silence is actually full of background noises and it’s almost impossible for me to tune them out. Silence just means being aware of every shuffle and footstep and passing truck. I always have music on when I’m up, and white noise when I’m asleep, for that reason - apartment living doesn’t really offer true silence.
