Wasn’t Presbyterianism based on Calvinism? If it was, then this is useful to my understanding of the belief in question. Thank you, I think you may have steered this thread away from “Tangentville.”Whatever the present-day Presbyterian churches might teach on God simply knowing (via foreknowledge) whether someone will choose salvation or not, it is clear the Calvin himself explicitly denied that predestination was simply a result of foreknowledge and affirmed that predestination was just that: God pre-destining someone for either election or reprobation.
