So I’ve heard a reformed protestant argument against the mass based on Hebrews 10:14 which reads “For by a single offering, he has perfected for all time those who are sanctified.” The thrust of his argument was something to the effect of “No matter how many times you approach the sacrifice of Jesus, you can still commit mortal sin before you die and be lost. Therefore you cannot say that the sacrifice in the mass perfects you when you receive communion. But the sacrifice of Jesus perfects us so we cannot be lost and therefore, the Catholic mass is a contradiction of Hebrews 10:14.” I have an idea of how to answer but I was hoping for some help. Thank you!
