From the moment of Baptism until and unless a person formally joins another Church, once a Catholic always a Catholic. Even folks who have been formally excommunicated are still technically Catholics they’re just not allowed the Sacraments.
Morally not very far at all before they separate themselves from the Catholic Church, not very far at all.
My understanding is that once a Roman Catholic always as Roman Catholic. No matter what you do in life or what choices you make you remain a Roman Catholic. You may not be in good standing with the RC church but you dont give up your catholicity.
That is misleading to say once Catholic, always Catholic. Once Baptized always Baptized, yes there is an indelible mark of Sacramental Baptism. But there is no indelible mark of a Catholic. Being Catholic means that you believe what the Catholic Church teaches and live out the Catholic faith in your everyday actions.
Agree with most everything you said. Except the POPE is NOT the head of the ROMAN Catholic Church. The POPE IS THE HEAD of the CATHOLIC CHURCH.

The Visable head of the Catholic Church on earth is the Pope. And yet. A Catholic who believes next to nothing, and hasn’t been to Church in 6 years still must be married in the Church or the Church would consider his marriage invalid. So, while it is obviously the fullness of catholicity to be living and believing the faith, there nevertheless remains a vestigial catholicity that the Church recognizes as Catholic.

There are not two rites in the Catholic Church, there are many more.
I knew there was a huge difference between the two, which is why I recommended nobody go to the American Catholic Church. They practise heresies and don’t follow the Pope.
Ohh! Thank you. Reading that cleared everything up for me. I didn’t know this many Rites existed. Now, just to clarify, the EWTN’s Mass is Latin Rite, am I right? I know St. Michael’s mass from Vision TV is Novus Ordo, but I’m not sure what Diocese of Toronto’s mass from CTV is and seems weird to me.
