For me, my life is filled with nonstop work, thinking, and other life events that tire me out to the extreme. I go to adoration once a week at my parish.
Each time I go I sit in the silence, sometimes kneeling and with my eyes closed, separating everything else away from that present moment. After awhile the rampant thoughts quiet down in my mind and I’m able to have a much needed conversation with God.
Many people have a bit of an issue with being in complete silence after days of music, conversations, rushing around, etc. It takes practice but it’s well worth it. I’ll even admit that at times in my life I’ve completely broken down in tears during adoration only to feel an explainable sense of comfort come over me as I walk back to my car.
