I wouldn’t call them overly negative, Moore is being cautious regarding people around (or viewing) the Pope. Nothing wrong with that.

Moore, the media exposure is playing a huge role. People couldn have been impacted this much by JP1 if social media was around.

I didn’t say they were overly negative, but they did stand out among the others.

Pope Francis has impacted me positively and made my faith grow.

The ELECTION of Pope Francis however has troubled and shaken my faith. The hijacking of this Pope to the liberal and secular causes has been sickening to watch. From the Traditional folks freaking out to the Progressive liberal folks celebrating and burning bras in the streets it has been awful.

Even normally level headed people are finding themselves conceding things we have no idea of yet!
This election of this Pope has been the most “political” event I have ever seen in my life. For that reason and the fact that he is a “pope of the people” who wants to get out into his flock I fear for the Pope’s life.

Is the glass half empty? Or half full? Human nature is predictably on both sides of the glass.

This is a most sublime moment in Catholicism and the universal Church is solemnly rejoicing. Why in the world would anyone want to puncture their exhilaration is beyond me. It smacks of pessimism and nastiness, refusing to allow another to experience joy.

Joseph is a “protector” because he is able to hear God’s voice and be guided by his will; and for this reason he is all the more sensitive to the persons entrusted to his safekeeping.

. Truth is Truth. When people are faced with Truth they can feel at first like they were entrapped to face it but face it we must. Either in this life or the next. We can either accept it or reject it. The choice is ours and the fact that we have to face it does not make it diobolical. God is Truth. Nothing diobolical about that.
I see it more like casting the net and reaping through Jesus Christ a net so full that it will be bursting at the seems.

Tigg, if your faith were strong and true, you would know without a doubt that the Holy Spirit has chosen Pope Francis, and he will guide the Church “infallibly” into Truth according to God’s will, and for the good of all His faithful. This is what we are celebrating, for heaven’s sake. What kind of witness is this to those outside our faith, to express doubts and uncertainty, that perhaps one’s confidence is misplaced, and may be shattered. It says, in effect, “I’m from Missouri - prove yourself to me!”

I am so sorry for those who are unable to experience the spiritual joy that has been bestowed on most of the Church by the Spirit, giving hope, strengthening faith, and birthing a deeper charity.

You seem, in your words, to lack faith in the Providence and choice of the Holy Spirit in giving us this holy man for our spiritual leader. Calling his election a political event and saying that the secular causes have hijacked the pope is not a good assessment.

Maybe it would help to hear his words, which he addressed to the media professionals and points out the disparity in the secular world.

“The Church” – he said – “does not respond to an earthly logic” and can be difficult to communicate effectively because "the nature of the Church is spiritual, not political". This is the only perspective in which the work of the Church can be presented, said Pope Francis.

The media and secular world may bay at the moon, but they cannot influence the Church’s spiritual nature. God is not bound by the media.

It is possible that you are projecting onto me.
I am not negative about Pope Francis. Why would I be. I am negative about the hijacking of the media and the liberals about a man who has only been known for a week.
If you want to accuse me of negativity because I don’t run with arms open to every flashing new shiny thing then go ahead.

This Pope may be a great Pope or not. He certainly has potential to be one of the most influential Popes of all time. But after a week it is foolish for the libs to claim him as their own and it is foolish for others to assume he is the best thing since sliced bread.

He is Pope. That is all we know right now. But week one was awesome for him. Too bad week one for the press and PR and agenda driven folk was just a tad bit (ok a lot!) better.
