I was raised Catholic but left the Church fairly early on. Later I sought truth in a variety of places including the bible, which I was sort of predisposed to believing was a fruitless place to look into, but was surprised instead. Jeremiah 31:33-34, the most important New Covenant prophecy, is probably the main reason I returned to the Christian faith. It implied that God would do what I was unable to do on my own, make me who He created me to be with all that means in terms of holiness or righteousness. “Apart from Me you can do nothing” (John 15:5) is the basis of our Christian walk. Other verses or passages would later come to stand out for me as well, until I came to increasingly recognize the voice of truth speaking through the pages of the bible.

It was the limitations of scripture that did it for me. I don’t mean that scripture by any means is unfulfilling but the written Word AND the living Word together bring us the fullness of truth and a deeper conversion of heart.
It was the plethora of beliefs in the world coming from what everyone agrees to be scripture in the Christian bible. Before i was deeply Catholic and having many friends of every Christian denomination that can be found, my Mother and most of my siblings left the church for the JW organization, which to me was just another denomination at the time as these people are good people and believe in the Lord Jesus and their belief is founded in the same bible as all my non-Catholic friends.
Once i decided it was important to my faith journey to understand more deeply and fully this “believe in Jesus” phrase and it didn’t take long to see where the problem was. This same problem that arose and showed me where my loving mother was/is wrong in her interpretation of the bible became the same source of the differences in some of my non-Catholic friends who still argue over doctrinal issues today, and ALL of these read from the same scriptures. This is why i can say it was not scripture per-se that helped me see the fullness in the Catholic Church but the lack of scripture that did - which is probably why John wrote the last vs in his gospel (Jn 21:25).

Well it seems that john 3:16 changed millions of peoples lives.
And i watched hundreds of changed lifes at calvery chaple church. Because of the line upon line bible teaching
