I’m ordering a set for my family. Wearers, I was wondering what your experiences were. Can you feel the graces and Our Lady’s protection? Has it helped you with holy purity?

To be perfectly honest, it hasn’t. I know that wasn’t the response you were expecting, but I believe it’s good for you to hear the experiences of those who have gained from it and those who haven’t gained from it. That way, you won’t build up high expectations (which usually ends up in misery) or perceive some kind of “false reality” of the Medal.

That said, I can understand how the Medal would work. Everytime you are close to sinning, you are reminded of the Blessed Virgin Mary, all the saints in Heaven, and God. In other words, you are incentivized to remain in a state of grace. It’s tantamount to a purity ring. I don’t believe anything supernatural is occurring, at least not generally speaking. I didn’t experience anything supernatural with it.

There are many miracles attached with it, as evidenced here: amm.org/aboutus/favors/favors.asp?menutype=&emailhld=&emlcode=&donor=&emldnrtype=
I also know a Satanist who converted to Catholicism because of the Miraculous Medal. He said he could “feel energy” off from it, and it had some kind of a strong grasp in his hand when he was given it by a then-anonymous woman.

But again, I would advise you take caution and not build up abnormally high expectations of the Medal. You are probably not going to experience locutions, apparitions, the gift of tears, and whatnot. Just thought I would make that clear :D. You are far more likely to avoid sin simply by praying the rosary :).

YES YES and YES

Wear some st benedict medal and st anthony medal along with the Miraculous medals and it has greatly helped me and protect me from the evil ones and temptations 🙂

But struggles are still there, we just need to believe the promise Our Lady gave to St. Catherine Laboure

None of us knows from day to day the miracles that God provides for us without our even knowing about it. I wear it, along with St. Anthony and St. Kolbe. Do I expect something from that? Not really-that’s getting a little too close to idolatry. I wear them under my shirt as reminders of how fortunate I am, every day.

Ah, I certainly wasn’t trying to have idolatrous expectations. I may be misinformed here but I see it as a sign of trust in and devotion to Our Lady that is a reminder for us and might also convey grace…is it not so much the medal itself but the faith expressed by the act of wearing it?

Mostly, it’s a reminder (behave yourself - Mother’s watching!) and I can’t say for sure I’ve benefited from any miracles. But no disasters, either. LOVE wearing it. There’s an MM group, if you’re interested.

I had a tremendous faith experience that I attribute to the wearing of the miraculous medal. However, I also agree with the other posters in saying that it is not a “good luck” charm. There is no “magic” involved. The medal is a symbol and a reminder of the graces Our Lady has been empowered to impart through her beloved Son. For reasons unknown to me the wearing of the medal was the key factor in these graces, perhaps so that now I can give witness to the promises the Virgin gave to Saint Catherine, so that others will also come to believe.

I’ll try to summarize as best I can. Through a series of events, a blessed miraculous medal was placed on my mother’s bed within minutes before her passing, by a dear friend (who is also a devout Catholic). This blessed medal was from France, obtained by my friend when she visited the incorrupt body of Saint Catherine Laboure a week earlier. We had attached the medal to a small prayer blanket that had also been draped across my mother’s bed that day. That evening I took both of the items home and placed them on my bed. Within about two weeks I began to have an indescribable urge to wear the medal. I remember telling my boyfriend at the time about these urgings, and I was quite disturbed because I had never felt such feelings before. At the time I was a lukewarm cradle Catholic, and had no idea of the medal’s history or who Saint Catherine was. Needless to say I began to wear the medal, and within another month I was completely transformed. I confessed years of mortal sin, began my annulment process, and experienced graces I could never have imagined. More than three years later I still wear the same medal, the same blanket covers my bed, and I continue my journey farther and farther into the depths of our Lord’s Most Sacred Heart. All I can express is my personal experience, and pray that others will be motivated in their faith by putting their trust in God, and asking for protection and guidance from our Blessed Mother. She is truly the mother of all, and in a way that was desperately needed she had pity on her miserable daughter, so much so that I had done nothing to deserve her kindness. I firmly believe that my mother’s faith, my friend’s faith, and my small act of willingness to wear the medal were the things she looked upon when deciding to grant me grace. 🙂

Hi,
“Have a medal struck… All who wear it will receive great graces; they should
wear it around the neck. Graces will abound for persons who wear it with confidence.” From the mother of Jesus spoken to sister Catherine Laboure 1830.
Her wish is for you to have this.

How do I know by wearing it she is doing any good for me? Well I don’t know but I believe she does for several reasons.

It is blessed. The devil hates blessed objects. So how many times did he bypass me for someone else? Lucky for me and bad for them. I don’t know how many times. But St. Peter said, “the devil goes about the world as a lion seeking whom he may devour.” I believe St. Peter and I also believe in the power of the church backing the medal as well as Mary who said I would receive GREAT graces because I have it on. I take her at her word. I don’t take it off for anything and I bless her for her special hand on me. How many temptations have I been spared? How many graces have I received? I believe her when she said she would do that. So the answer must be a lot since that is what she promised. And afterall it is the mother of God who is saying this.

Her promisary gift is for everyone, catholic or other, because there were no conditions put upon this except that the person believe what she says.
What did she do at CANA?

I wear a MM medal, I’ve only taken it off for medical procedures. I also wear OL of Guadlupe & Santo Nino de Atocha (Infant from Spain). My grandson recently gave me the last 2 medals to attach to my MM medal.

I wear it because I have such devotion to Our Blessed Mother and it makes me feel safe & loved.

(I have posted this before on another section.)

Earlier this year what appears to be a miracle occurred here in Australia. It has been widely reported in the secular and the Catholic media. A three year old girl named Claire was accidentally run over by her father’s four tonne family bus.

This child should not have survived, but she did. I had the privilege of meeting Claire and her mother and a few of her other siblings, (it is a large family) at a meeting held in the hall at St. Mary’s Cathedral, in Sydney two weeks ago.

At first I was reluctant to go up and introduce myself, because I realized that this family lives a long distance from the city of Sydney and I thought that perhaps it was a lady who just looked like Claire’s mum, but through seeing pictures of Claire’s mum in magazines, TV and newspapers I concluded that it must be the same person, which happily is the case.

Claire’s mum showed me the Miraculous Medal which Claire was wearing at the time of the accident, and which she still wears around her neck. Claire looks great for a person who has gone through such an ordeal. The family credits Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal with Claire’s survival and quick recovery against all the odds.

I took the opportunity to tell Claire’s mum about another Miraculous Medal case that happened not far from Sydney some years ago, in which a child was accidentally run over in the driveway by the dad’s car. This child was rushed to hospital and was found to be okay. The imprint of the Miraculous Medal was found on the child’s skin. It was like the medal had been a stamp on the skin. The skin had this image in red marks. I was really impressed by this case, but I think that Claire’s case is even more astounding.

The Miraculous Medal got it name due to the many kinds of miracles and protections which occurred for its wearers from its earliest days. It had previously been known as the medal of the Immaculate Conception.

When I was about to write this posting, a Catholic magazine arrived in my snail mail postbox, with an article about Claire. This is a bit of a coincidence, because the accident took place five months ago. I could hardly wait to read it.

There is a bit more to Claire. She was already a famous child, because the pope blessed her when she was a baby, (from among the biggest crowd ever gathered in Australia) the last Mass of the World Youth Day 2008. (My husband and I were at this Mass.)

Greetings and prayer for all your intentions,

Mary Ann

P.S. When I first posted this account on the forum, a reader from Germany recognized for the first time, that his survival in his line of work, which had often brought him into scary life threatening situations, had to do with the fact that he had been wearing the Miraculous Medal around his neck for the past ten years. He had never understood before how he had not met with death or a serious accident in the dangerous line of work that he is involved in.

**The healing of panic attacks **

For five months I was suffering from severe panic attacks, which caused some very big problems in my life. I was very upset and prayed many prayers for help, including a 54 Day Rosary Novena. One of the prayers that I said was the prayer associated with the Miraculous Medal, "O Mary conceived without sin pray for us, who have recourse to thee.” Our family went on holidays for a month during this difficult period. There was a doll museum in the holiday area which I wanted to see. It was very interesting to see all the different kinds of dolls, but two interested me more that the rest. There were two dolls that were dressed as nuns and one of them had a Miraculous Medal at the end of her Rosary beads and the other was wearing a Miraculous Medal. This unexpected find was very comforting to me and I recovered soon after from these panic attacks, which were connected to specific circumstances. The previous batch that I had suffered from, were related to crossing bridges (fear of heights.) They lasted many years and were healed as a result of a lot of prayers. The recent panic attacks were far more severe than the previous ones, since due to their severity I sometimes vomited. An underlying longstanding ear imbalance problem made these panic attacks unusually severe. Thanks to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal they were healed within a few months.

I had a true miracle occur wearing an antique MM. It was given to me from a protestant friend who wasn’t sure what it was but was distraught over my situation, visited an antique store and felt compelled to get it for me. It was a long trial, but in the end, nobody could say we hadn’t had a miracle. And I was wearing that medal which was rather miraculously presented to me by a non-believer who had no idea what it was.

Unfortunately, as that same friend lay dying in a coma, I prayerfully gave the medal to her partner, a quasi-practicing but believing Catholic in the hope that another miracle might be granted. But my dear and best friend, spiritual sister and closest person to me other than my husband and son died anyway. It was no magic bullet.

I miss that medal, but of course, I cannot ask for it back.

But I know the miracle I experienced was not really attached to that heavy old piece of silver, but from God with Mary’s intervention. MMs aren’t magic talismans. Mostly they are reminders. Mine was a special reminder as it was so darn heavy that when I wore it I simply couldn’t forget it was there, and that my friend had been miraculously drawn to it with no knowledge whatsoever of what it was and thus allowed herself to be guided by the Holy Spirit.

I’m ordering a set for my family. Wearers, I was wondering what your experiences were. Can you feel the graces and Our Lady’s protection? Has it helped you with holy purity?
I wear the Miraculous Medal and only take it of when I shower. Do I ever feel the graces of Our Lady? I am so dependent on it! Everyday I not only wear it but also say the accompanying Novena prayers, so that it becomes a sincere desire to receive the graces and my petitions answered. It becomes, so to speak, a part of your life. Anything I ask, I received. The attitude that is important though is that of faith - that you will receive.
God bless you for such a great, loving and meaningful gift.👍

I got a Miraculous Medal today, nearly in despair over my struggles with atheism. Today, I begin looking back at Frank Sheed’s Theology for Beginners on my Kindle app and find, “Around the end of the fourth century, over fourteen hundred years before Darwin, St. Augustine wrote De Genesi ad litteram, establishing that Genesis was not meant to be taken literally. His own view was that in the beginning God created the “seeds,” the elements which would ultimately develop, evolve, into our universe. (He has a couple of theories about the six days, neither of them literal.)”[72/241(Kindle)]. Mary must have said a few prayers for me :D!

A true story. I teach catechism to children preparing for first holy communion. This is my second time doing so. When I taught my first group of students last year I gave each of my fifteen students a miraculous medal. This year I wasn’t sure I would be asked to take a class and was only asked to do so at the last minute. Consequently I didn’t have any miraculous medals and honestly the thought of them had completely gone out of my head. One day on the phone to my mother she told me that someone had given her a bunch of miraculous medals. She didn’t know why and had no use for them. She asked me whether I would like them but remarked that she was sure I had plenty of my own. I asked her to send them to me and I would keep them just in case.

Anyway the morning of my catechism class arrived. Before I left the house the post arrived with a packet for me. Inside were the silver miraculous medals each with a blue cord attached. I counted them. There were 14. The same number of students in my class. 😃

Needless to say my jaw dropped open and I realised that although I had forgotten to get some miraculous medals for the children, Our Lady clearly hadn’t.😉 I went to my class and presented each child with their medal. I explained its history and importance. The miraculous medal must be VERY important for Our Lady to have done this. The other week a non-Catholic friend came across a packet of 30 miraculous medals in very unusual circumstances. She recognised them as I had once given her one. She pointed them out to me and i acquired them - free. It seems that again Our Lady is placing them in my hands for a reason. I will of course cooperate with Our Lady and try to make sure they get to whoever She wishes to have one.

It hasn’t helped me.

In fact, it turned totally dark, which signals that I am totally evil and not worth anything to God.

Come on, don’t think like that. You’re of infinite value to God. Get some silver polish for the medal.

Mary did say that she requires your trust in her. It really isn’t about your condition or state. She requires your trust, and a little love also helps a lot. The medal has her personal backing and it was her gift to help us out. So if this is remembered you will find that it does make a difference.

And how do I know it is not a sign?

I want to love God, but he doesn’t want me. If Daddy doesn’t want me, how do I know Mommy wants me? And even if she wants me can she overrule Daddy (I doubt it)?

It is important to love, but it is also very important to trust.

How are you doing with the commandments? “If you love me, keep my commandments.”
“Do unto others as you would have others do to you.” That spells lovable. And believing by doing spells trust. He gives us an easy way to know how to turn things around.

And Mary thru her miraculous medal, can lead you and make this possible to be one with Jesus. Just try it and trust.
