I recieved a(nother) sincere letter from a member of the LDS church again, and I thought my response would be beneficial for LDS members to ponder over. Here’s what I wrote:
My First Response
"Well, I’l have you know I’m not so quick to accept here-say from non-believers. I am always certain to ask for resources of what they’re saying or I tell them they can they can shuv-it. I know your church recieves alot of persecution, and all dogma tries to smear Joseph Smith’s reputation.
I personally think he was a nice guy. But from what I’ve seen I think he’s just a man who saw a world of apostacy due to the rise of protestants, saw something wrong with so many denominations, and wanted restoration to the church of Christ.
And yes, I have my own book of Mormon.
He asks me to pray and confront God about it. (the book of Mormon) You know, like mormons always do.
I ask God periodically to guide my research, but I know how you Mormons are so prayer certain, so I’ll do that as I await your response. And I truly hope what you consider is God’s hidden wisdom about the book of Mormon to be more consistant then archeology has been for your prophet’s book.
He was talking about a prophecy he wanted to show me that talks about the book of Mormon in the Bible.
Because of archeology, we have evidence for many claims for the stories of Odisius. Like for example a war between two armies of 800 men. But for a war between a few thousand men like in the BOM, we don’t really find anything but a few cow skulls.
Also, Native Americans never used metal to make armor, coins, and swords. They didn’t use money either, they traded goods. Neither did they build cities like in the BOM (which should have left some evidence) by the way. And I doubt Native Americans are Israelites, they’re probably ancestors of a nomadic tribe from Asia that crossed a land bridge during the last Ice Age. But that’s the theory, anyway.
If you impress me then I’ll just pass this all off as “they’re just not looking in the right place.” because the BOM doesn’t really give a good account of where exactly it’s talking about. But I’ll give your beliefs a go.

"I’ve answered this question already… YES I have a book of Mormon!
He’s asked me this already…
I have a mormon friend (two actually.) The main man I talk to about religion is my friend Jared Cole of Latter Day Saints. He gave me a Book of Mormon, we’ve invited the missionaries over, we talked about it. ect, ect.
He wondered what viewpoints I’ve accepted about the church of LDS.
Because of the sincerity of mormons all over, I give this book a fair shot. Honestley, I wish Joseph Smith was a prophet. But if I believe with all my heart, mind, soul, and body, that Joseph Smith was a pophet, why should I stop at Joseph Smith? Why do you think people believe Muhammed to be a prophet? Or Buddah? Or the guy responsable for Jonestown?
Reguardless, I’ve given all these “prophets” a fair shot. Joseph Smith is no acception.
THINK. ABOUT. IT.
Some of these prophets recieved revelation from the devil in the conclusion of my research. For example, the angel Gabriel in the Qu’ran is described to have had a “dreadful voice” Hmm, who does that sound like?
Satan?
He talks about how all mainstream religions are convinced that the days of angels, prophets, and demons are over.
I know that the days of prophets, angels, and demons isn’t over. God has been calling all to arms throughout history.
This is true. There has been a case called “the Missisipi Trial” and the mother of who’s son was brutally murdered had the Lord appear to her and tell her that her son was to be used to start a movement. And also, Perry Stone’s dad has had experiences with angels. He tells about them with tears. There are alot of “under the rug cases” like this.
But the Bible isn’t written by prophets, it’s a compiling of history, prophecies, psalms, proverbs, and revelation.
He brought up how “we don’t know where to look.”
History has already been extensively searched for to support your prophet’s claims. But we’ve come up very empty handed. Check the video attached."
