I used to pray the Divine Mercy chaplet frequently, last semester when my classes ended at 12:15, but now they go until 2:30, and I can’t get home in time to pray it. I was able to pray it again yesterday for the first time since then, but I’d like to know how important it is to do it at 3 o’clock.

It is 3:00 PM somewhere in the world. Pray it when you can. It is the prayer that counts not the time.

I think that you should pray as you can. Don’t worry about the times so much. If you can’t pray it a 3:00pm then pray it at 4:00pm or 5:00pm. Just offer it with the intention to be at 3:00pm. Remember, that it is 3:00pm somewhere.

Sadly, I am at work and can’t pray it at that time either, most days. So I pray it after noon Mass every day.

It is a great devotion if you can’t at 3 offer it up when you can . I believe the merciful lord will understand

We just had a thread on this, and someone (I think Pianistclare) pointed out that we aren’t asked to pray the whole Divine Mercy chaplet at 3, but rather the 3 O’Clock Prayer, which is the “You expired, O Jesus…” prayer only.

Furthermore, you could even pray at 3 pm the short version of that prayer, which is, “O Blood and Water which gushed forth from the heart of Jesus as a Fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!” It takes 5 seconds.

I set my phone alarm to go off at 3 pm and now I just say the “O Blood and Water” prayer. It takes less time than the Angelus/ Regina Coeli (which I also have phone alarms set for at 6 am, noon and 6 pm).
My schedule usually doesn’t permit me to say the whole chaplet right at 3 pm so I say the chaplet when I can.
