How important is it to receive the Blood of Christ at Mass?

I am going to ask you a question I have asked before.

If you were to approach whomever was holding the Cup, and as you drew near you realized that instead of someone from your parish holding it, it was Christ who was presenting it to you, what would you do - receive from the cup or pass by?

How you answer this question will be the answer to your original post (or to any other reader).
 
Not only is it your position, but also the CDC has no information on diseases being passed through reception from the cup.

Furthermore, reception on the tongue presents a likelihood that spittle will get on the finger of whomever is distributing, and that provides equal opportunity for spread of germs. Again, nothing from the CDC.
 
It is the divine nature of Communion that made St. Paul warn us against unworthy reception of Communion making us sick or dead. So yeah, there is that.

I do not particularly worry about germs in a common cup containing alcohol; but even if the Previous Blood or the accidents of wine fought germs (which of course they might), there are a zillion other ways to get sick at Mass. Presumption of safety is as silly as paranoia.

It might better be wondered if it is wrong to bring sickness to the common Eucharist, instead of being careful.

For those who wish to partake in the cup that is fine. For those, who do not, your communion is complete with the taking of the bread. 😇

It is important and because it is important during first communions the priest soak the bread to the blood or the real flesh of God to His real blood. Even you take the Flesh of Christ alone it can give you life because your love can give power to the thin wafer the powerless Christ on cross.Those people who have Cellac Disease can drink the blood into a seperated cup and may not eat the flesh.I believe that the most important thing to recieve in communion is Christ that will give you virtues,repentance and good things and will give you power.
 
There are cobble stones to walk on so it is very easy to trip over. That is one of the reasons for not giving the Blood to laity. Some of the ciboriums used for outdoor Masses have a smaller lid that can be slid under the larger part, which are great when needing to walk a longer distance or up and down stairs.
