I may not be asking the question properly, I am trying to understand.

The word in play here is “haram”.

Here is an example of what sparks my question.

In New York, mayor Bloomberg is banning Clergy from the 9/11 memorial celebration. And He is pushing for the Mosque to be built at the same time.

The theory is that:
according to the koran if prayers of religions other than islam are offered at that spot, that spot becomes haram for building a mosque!!!

I have also heard that if a pig is buried on the site, then that site also becomes haram.

Is it true about the site becoming haram if Christian prayers are offered up that site? If this is true then how do we explain all those catholic churches being taken over and converted to mosques.

Is there a cleansing formula in place? If there is a formula then what is that formula?

There is no such teaching in Quran; people become whimsical sometimes.

Muhammad allowed Catholics/Christians to pray in the mosque built by him which is called Masjid-e-Nabwi or the “mosque of the prophet” at Medina.

Muslims can pray at any place which is not physically dirty.

There is no cleansing formula; there is no need of any such formula as according to Islam Muslims could pray on any piece of land which is not physically dirty.

Okay, so does burying a pig on the land make it “Dirty”.

What are some of the other ways that the land becomes dirty?

Will the Christians hold a prayer service on a piece of land where dead cows have been buried recently? Will it be hygienic?

The OP asked a few questions. To just reply “That’s not true” makes no sense.
it is up to OP to provide a source for his assertion, not the responders

if it were true that prayers of another religions make a locaton unsuitable for a Moslem mosque why did they make mosques of, or build over locations, of Christian churches where they conquered, such as the Holy Sofia, not to mention Jerusalem?

Its not true. May be they bought the church . But if it was me i would never buy a church … its just a bad idea . Unless they eel its a good location in the city center. I mean … i thiung its just a business decision and not really the intention of buying ‘‘churches’’.

Is there a cleansing formula in place? If there is a formula then what is that formula?

No there is no location cleansing formula
Look… this is just drama made up by anti muslim self proclaimed experts. But its good you ask muslims so we can clear this up.

And frankly i dont care about building any mosque near the wtc site any way .

If the land is dirty then you have to clean it. garbage collectors and stuff…I mean if you wanna make a place dirty you just throw in some garbage.
