lol…nice try. But if I never said anything about being better, why did YOU? Your point was not lost despite you trying to act differently.
Just as I knew you do. .

I am glad we both knew you would backpeddle

You can say that this is what lead you away from the church, but there is more to it than this. I have read for many years both pro and con about the church history. At one time I did not believe in anything, but because of experiences I have had from God, I was lead back to the church, and given a witness I can not deny, nor should I. So because you have had a different experience does not make your path more correct than mine.

I have not lied to you. It was LDS Doctrine and History that led me away. It was LDS member conduct that made me stay away. And no, my experience does not make my path correct. The truth makes my path correct.

You could have known. People from the beginning of time have known and then fallen away. You have found something else that makes you happy. Good for you. From my view point it is incomplete and suspect because of the absolute confidence of the oral traditions. If this is what you want to follow I have no problem. But don’t be demeaning and mocking of my beliefs. Of course you will say you haven’t or someone else will say that the truth must hurt. This is silly.

If it makes you feel better to think I did not really know, then fine. But I did. And God led me away from error. And I do not belittle your beliefs. I speak truth. If truth belittles your beliefs, then you should take a second look at what you believe.

Well I hope that you don’t believe everything you learned on your mission, or I would believe that crows were those birds which refused to eat the crickets.

If I believed everything I learned, I would still be LDS and in error.

It was a joke.

No. Jokes are funny

None of the 12 witnesses denied that they saw, felt and lifted the plates. Even though the first three witness all fell away from the church, none of them ever denied what they had seen. Two of the witnesses came back to the church.
I have explained the reasons

Each and every topic has been refuted time and time again.

No it hasn’t. None of them have. Not a single one. But i truly understand your need to believe differently.

And yet you either disregard or let it zip over your heads.

lol…you can’t refute truth with what you offer. And nothing zipped anywhere…

This is the typical tactic used by those who’s own position is so weak they have to use childish tactics to push their attack agenda forward. Very interesting.

And yet you keep using that tactic. If so childish, I suggest you stop using it.

The question I have asked repeadedly is how you know. Well I have heard that it has been proven through science to be either true or false. In other words, there is a belief in the arm of flesh, rather than the arm of God. Very interesting. So how long has man been on the earth? How old is the earth? 20 years ago, how many galaxies were their? 500 years ago, what did men believe the earth looked like? If science came out and said there was no God would that end the religion know as RCC?
Fine…I will let you convince me. Where is Bountiful? Where is Zerehemla?

You are so predictable

Let’s add to the fact that he was a known treasure hunter/digger. He was prosecuted and convicted for it.

Let’s also not forget his numerous failed prophecies.

Let’s not forget he also tried to rejoin the Methodist Church.

and the issue with the Textus Receptus

and the issues with archaeology

etc etc

People have fallen away from the church over spilt milk. I am tougher than that.
God leading me away was not spilt milk. And it does not take toughness to stay…anyone can stay…it takes toughness to leave when God tells you to

How many times do we have to explain this?

The Church has never had a DOCTRINAL change. The shape of the Earth is a red herring because it is not DOCTRINAL.

You have demonstrated a poor understanding of what is DOCTRINE. You demonstrated that with your thought that Celibacy is DOCTRINAL when it isn’t

Try again.

Now mormonism has had doctrinal changes. Which is common to cults in order for those in power to stay in power.

Oh, still waiting on your 99% reference.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galileo_galilei

Make sure you read down to the part which says that the church thought it was important enough to declare that the Earth did not move.

I wouldnt call them a cult. I would call them misinformed and deceived though. And as Catholics we should pray for them. :gopray:
Disclaimer: I have not read all the pages of this thread.

The Catholic Church does consider LDS a cult. This isn’t a derogatory term. It simply describes a form of religion with a significantly different aspect that is not so extreme as to be a different religion. In the case of the LDS, the most significant aspect is the LDS different understanding of baptism. Here’s the definition from the Catholic dictionary. (the second definition applies to LDS, the first if for cults within the Church)
A definite form of worship or of religious observance, sometimes rendered “cultus,” especially when referring to the worship of saints. Also a particular religious group centered around some unusual belief, generally transient in duration and featuring some exotic or imported ritual and other practices. (Etym. Latin cultus, care, adoration; fromcolere, to cultivate.)

You can quote all the anti mormon religion all you want. I have studied it for many years thinking that they would find at least one failed prophecy, or the smoking gun of the first vision. It is all so silly. Yet you continue to throw it out like it is as in the movies that a cross has some power to thwart a vampire.
