How is your husband wonderful?

He tells me he loves me and hugs and kisses me even when I’m at my very worst.

My husband is a hero. He served in the Vietnam War, working on B52s. He became a Ranger in the 80s (at age 32 - no small feat!) and served all over the world before retiring from the military after 25 years.
He then became a math/science teacher for Grades 4-8, and was a wonderful, enthusiastic teacher, working in poor, inner-city schools.
He has been the gentlest, kindest husband anyone could ever wish for, with a rippin’ bod ;).
He never could bring himself to spank our children, because his nature is so patient and loving.
He has given me diamonds and pearls and his very self.
He attends all Masses and church functions and is a devout Catholic.
This is the kind of man he is: he shaved my legs for me in every pregnancy when I couldn’t bend over, because it was important to me! You can’t get better than that. 😛
You’ve been blessed. 🙂

Luna, this is a wonderful thread…I enjoy reading all the posts!

He works incredibly hard to provide for me and our children. He always tries to support me, even if it makes things somewhat inconvenient/difficult for him. He’s always striving to become a better husband, father, and Christian all around. And he’s completely patient with me when my pregnancy hormones make my moods all out of whack! He loves reading and playing games with the kids.
He sounds like a wonderful man, SummerSmiles. 🙂

He doesn’t make a big deal out of things that don’t have to be a big deal. As a result, our house is a totally drama-free zone.
Drama-free homes make life a lot more pleasant, don’t they? 🙂

He is quite simply the most amazing, loving, kind, compassionate, giving man I’ve ever known. I love and adore him SO MUCH!!. He puts our relationship with God first every single day. We pray together, we laugh together, we cry together. He also makes the bed everyday and he’s a great cook. Those are just bonuses though! Thanks for this topic!
Making the bed and cooking are bonuses, but quite the bonuses they are!

That is great. He sounds very sweet. I would love for my husband to say the rosary with me. Last time I asked him to stay to say the rosary, he asked how long would it take then said that he would go get a donut and pick me up when it is over 😦
That is indeed unfortunate. But did he at least bring you a donut back?

I am not beautiful.

I weigh thirty pounds more than when we got married.

Apparently, I snore sometimes. 🤷

I have an Irish temper, and an Italian attitude sometimes.

I have a long list of projects around the house that I need to fix.

But my husband loves me in spite of all my flaws. He is a hard working family oriented man that has one of the most generous hearts I know. He is funny and goofy at times, but mostly serious and task oriented. He is the guy with a plan, or a list, or the energy to make things happen. Is he perfect? No, but we work it out and as Rocky said to Adrienne, we “fill gaps.”

Let’s see. . .

He’s handsome in his Coastie uniform. Very big plus.

He has a very strong sense of duty. I always know that he’s dedicated to our children and our marriage, and all of the decisions he makes are based on his devotion to us.

He tells me that I’m beautiful, even when I’m fat and pregnant.

If he hurts my feelings, he always appologizes.

He’s always willing to take me on birdwatching trips and even makes the plans for them, even though it’s not his thing.

He has a goofy sense of humor. He has the ability to make perfect strangers laugh just by being himself.

After five years of marriage, he still opens the door for me.

He’s hard-working almost to a ridiculous extent. He comes home from work and immediately starts cleaning, even though housework is really my job. When I banned him from doing the laundry, he still had to sneak in a few loads. 🙂

He emails me from work every day. If he’s out of town, he calls every night.

When he was deployed early in our marriage, I was quite amazed to discover that my tough military husband liked to write sappy love letters. He’s a total cheeseball, but that just makes things fun.

We love traveling together. Just a ride in the car is fun with him. He frequently stays in the car with the boys just so that I can hike a not-so-kid-friendly trail. And a free breakfast in the hotel is never lackluster when I’m with him.

He’s my best friend. Hands down. I don’t confide in anyone as I do with him.

Love this thread. 👍

He is wonderful. He can cook, clean, wash clothes, iron, wash the floor, etc.etc.
And he is a wonderful doctor-wanna-be. Always dressing my wounds twice a day…
He can fix darn near anything, at anyone’s house including ours.
He never lets anything that is broke go longer than 5 minutes being fixed
There are too many things to mention that make him wonderful…in sickness and in health, till death do us part.

I’m not married yet but I do want to brag on my fiance a bit, so deal with it:D

He is the most generous person in the world. He puts me first, but everyone else ahead of himself. I’m always astounded by how well he treats people and how freely he inconveniences (and sometimes worse) so that his friends and family can have it better.

He has downright encouraged the sibling-like relationship that I have with my ex-fiance. There has never been any jealousy there and he is even starting to treat him more like a future BIL than friend.

Because of our difference in values and our lack of religious faith one member of his family in particular has not been completely supportive. But he manages to defend our relationship and our choices while at the same time being completely loving, kind, and respectful towards her.

I suffer from several severe mental health issues. He has held my hand, encouraged me, and supported me the whole way while not once patronizing or diminishing me.

I’m a vegan and he loves meat (and hates veggies), but he always goes out of his way to make sure that I get a good meal. He even modifies some of his favorite recipes for me. He even stands up for my decision to his family and (very obnoxious) friends.

These are only a few of the ways that he’s wonderful, and just typing this has made me tear up. I’m so lucky to get to spend the rest of my life with this man.

It just occurred to me that I should give this list to my husband for Valentine’s Day, and I thought I should pass the idea along!
