How Israel broke the Sabbath!

Israel started their raid against Gaza on Saturday, but shouldn’t that be a Holy-Day!

What the Rabbis inside and outside Israel opinion about that?

Valke2 & Kaninchen, What is your opinion? I thought Israel suppose to be a Jewish country which should respect the OT! Am I mistaken?

That is what happen if hatred, political agenda and earthly desires conquer the mind of political leaders, Sam. I have met many soldiers (from many countries), and none of them like to shoot other people. None of them liked to be asked such kind of question too. If they did, it was under orders to attack.

Depends on WHEN during Saturday the campaign began.
Was it BEFORE or AFTER sunset? The Jewish day begins at sunset and ends on sunset the next day.

I remember seeing the breaking news on many TV channels on Saturday morning somewhere after 11:00am Saudi Time which is equivalent to 10:00am Israel time.

And yes I know that the Jewish day begins at sunset and ends on sunset the next day, its the same as Muslim day, because both are using the lunar calender.

It was during the Sabbath, in the morning. The Jewish day does start at sundown but I do not believe this is because we use a form of lunar calendar. Rather, it is because the Torah tells us:

And there was evening, and there was morning, one day.
(Gen. 1:5)
