I’m having a hard time grasping something, forgive me if the post is all over the place.

How did Jesus change the Trinity? Or, the nature of ‘God’ - since ‘God’ is a nature, outside of time. Yet Jesus was inserted into time as God. Surely then, there is a contradiction. God was both in and outside of time existing as God. Furthermore, how was Jesus able to ascend into Heaven as God with a physical body? Having a physical body, I just don’t understand or see how He could be still outside of time or share in the nature of God. I mean, His body had to go somewhere, right?

Just a bit confused.

NB: I’m not challenging the faith nor do I have any doubts, it’s just a question. Even if I weren’t to get a satisfactory answer I wouldn’t be bothered. I’m a lowly human after all, sometimes I just won’t understand things.

Jesus has two natures: His divine nature as the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity, and a human nature taken on at the Incarnation. This union is the “Hypostatic Union”.

Being eternal, God is immutable, so from His point of view, the Incarnation would be eternal. God IS, in one eternal act of “ISSING”!
As a person, Jesus is the Second Person of the Trinity.
He suffered and died in His human nature.
Being infinite, God “was” infinitely offended by the Fall.
The Atonement “was” perfectly achieved by way of Jesus` perfect union of His divine and human natures.

Because were immersed in space and time, theres a before and after; and our intellects can`t grasp the reality of eternity.

PS
As an afterthought, i decided to provide a link to an article about the Hypostatic Union…but ran out of edit time. 😊

Here`s one article:
cathtruth.com/catholicbible/hypost.htm

Hopefully, its free of error. Its a Catholic Truth one; and it must be pretty old because it says "the Holy Ghost’!
The intended one is from the New Advent website; but i failed to link to it. 🤷

Hope this info is what you were after.

Translating a temporal system, ie, human body, into Eternity is not something we can fully wrap a timebound head around. We don’t undrstand enough; we don’t even have the flux capacitor yet :):)🙂

I think Jesus being able to ascend into Heaven with a physical, human body would not be a difficult accomplishment compared to other things God did. Examples; Enoch and Elijah were taken up to Heaven in bodily form, parting the Red Sea, the chariot that Ezekiel saw, drb.scripturetext.com/ezekiel/10.htm, raising up skeletons to become soldiers drb.scripturetext.com/ezekiel/37.htm, raising people from the dead, creating humans and all living creatures, and the all time biggie, creating the heavens and the Earth. And so many other things.

God is omnipresent, therefore he is always inside and outside of time as an eternal being. When Jesus died on the cross his spirit simply seperated from his body. He was still aware of everything as a spiritual being at that time.

But he transformed the body, and took it up into Heaven. So becoming the hope of human life, which needs a BODY for being.

Can you explain this more. That is how is the Incarnation eternal? My instinct is that God entered into time and that the Incarnation is something that took place within time. The Son was Himself eternal but the Incarnation would be in time. Wouldn’t the mystery of the union of God and Man be something that happened in time?

Begins in time, then moves into Eternity.

Dont forget that, for God, theres no before and after: theres just the eternal NOW. Thats why i said in that first post that "from Gods point of view", the Incarnation is eternal. God is IMMUTABLE, so it has to be that way. Otherwise, the Blessed Trinity would have undergone change. From Gods perspective, all of His Creation must be “eternal”. And that explains why He is omniscient: He knows everything in one eternal act of knowing. In a way, He “sees” the Four Dimensions the way we see the Three Dimensions.
We just don`t have the intellects to fully grasp concepts like Eternity and Infinity. We have to try to picture an Eternal Tense. 🤷

Again, we have to stay away from the idea that God changed.
Time is the measuring of change; so Time can`t be applied to God.
Change is reserved for us and the angels, plus the rest of material Creation.

Because were immersed in Time, from our perspective, the Incarnation happened at a point in Time. So, from the perspective of our Lords HUMAN nature, the Incarnation happened at a point in Time. BUT, as a PERSON, He`s the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity; so, from the perspective of the Person of Jesus, the Incarnation is eternal. He could say to the Jews: “Before Abraham WAS, I AM.”. John 8:58.

God IS in the changeless timelessness of Eternity.

Sorry: very badly worded! 😊
