How late is "too late"?

I do not think that is true but I would stand corrected if you can show me the Church documentation stating that.
It is true, but you’d have to contact your local Office for Divine Worship to confirm this, as you do not believe and I do not know what source I got this information from. It was a good, sound source. That is all I remember.

Sorry but its up to you to substantiate any claim you make and not tell someone else to do it for you otherwise what you say remains simply your opinion or hearsay.

I’ll try and ask the priest who I think said it.

Before one had to attend Mass before the beginning of the gospel reading to have the Mass count…now it is before the liturgy of the eucharist (which begins with the patten lifting) although the Church doesn’t want us coming in late or leaving early like people had been doing, if that can be helped.

I’ll try and get back to you with the document though.

The second part of the liturgy could begin when the veil is lifted off the chalice, not the patenI think this is what was told to me but I’m not sure, but what’s important is that what marks the beginning of the second part of the Mass, the liturgy of the Eucharist, is what counts. I’m trying to get in touch with the priest who I think said this and I’m looking in my James Akin book Mass Confusion for the document name that states that the beginning of second part of the liturgy is the cut off point for being “too late” for Sunday Mass.

By the way I’m not saying you are wrong.
I’m just saying all of us making claims have to be able to support them.
Frankly, unless something really unforeseen happens there is little excuse for not being there for the start of the mass.

Thanks. And I agree, if anything unforseen happens there is little excuse for not being there at the start of the Mass.🙂

I have decided to ask a CA apologist to provide the name the document that would answer your question. I hope it helps.
