How long did the "incubation period" take before getting used to TLM?

Thanks for the eloquent reply as always, brotherrolf!

Before attending Latin Mass I went through the Missal extensivly as “training” but I was still lost during Mass. I assume that is because of the very different charachter of each day of the Mass. The N.O. is pretty much the same each day, the differences are also far more recognisable because you fully understand them. Also, perhaps the main difference between NO and TLM is that the participant is far more required to be “active” in the NO. During TLM the Priest does the praying for the faithful.

God bless you young folks! Perservere! There are differences. Indeed, there are. But in the long run the NO (liturgical rite I) is the same as what I grew up with. It may only be used on Crhristmas and Easter (maybe Pentecost) but it is the same

I am happy with my reverent NO Cathedral parish. We do OK. We do.

I had no transition really at all. I was born and raised with the NO, and went to my first Extraordinary Form by accident on vacation in 2007. It was the Feast of the Assumption. No prior experience, and I felt drawn to it almost overnight, I found the parish in my home diocese that offers the TLM weekly, and I have visited it several times over the last year. I would have no problem praying that mass every day of the year.
