I was told to get my house blessed again. I asked why? I thought if something is blessed, it’s forever. Isn’t it? Love y’all.

Good question…I’ve had the house blessed a couple of times, but only once for beads and other things so I will be interested in answers too.

HI Greenfields,

My Catholic Ministers who visit me every Wed or Thurs. gave me the answer. I asked them. They said forever. The water has been blessed. Blessings never go away.

The Lord Be with you.

Usually if you sell the house or sell another blessed item, the person receiving it has to get a new blessing. A blessing cannot be sold.

But if it hasn’t changed hands, the blessing is still in place.

I can see that. Having the same place blessed again (same place you’ve always lived) being redundant. It’s not like it’s gonna wear off.

I’m sorry, I didn’t write everything. I think my Ministers told me that also. If you stay in a house and die in that house, the blessings stay forever. Blessings never go away. People told me to bless my house again. The reason for me asking this question. The Ministers said, “No, you don’t have to. The Priest from my Parish blessed my house”. It’s all good. And Fr. said everything in my house was blessed also.

The Lord be with you.

True, but it doesn’t hurt to get extra blessings - after all, we all get blessed by the priest at the end of every Sunday Mass - doesn’t mean it only “sticks” until the next one or for a limited time.
