How long does it take to repent from viewing pornography for around 10-15 seconds? Is it normal for it to take about week and NOT a couple days?

I am asking this question because it is very important for me to know as I am in the process of completely stopping watching pornography and I want to know if there is any changes in the time it takes to repent for the exact same mortal sin (viewing pornography for 10-15 seconds around 14 years ago when I first started a pornography addiction and right now when I am in the process of completely stopping it). I recall 14 years ago it would take around 2 days (I could be wrong) and right now it takes around a week or even longer. I have been wondering if God is punishing me greater now for the exact same mortal sin and mortal sin gravity than he did 14 years ago when I first started it. Please let me know if anyone has experience and good judgement on this scenario. Thank you

Let’s clarify what we mean by “repent”.

To “repent” means to recognize your guilt and be sorry for your offense. You repent, and then you go to Confession to be forgiven your sin.

Ideally, one should “repent” instantly after committing a sin.

By this definition, do you really mean that it takes you over a week to repent of the sin of viewing porn? Or are you referring to the act of going to Confession? You really should be feeling sorry for the sin immediately after committing it, since you know in your intellect that it is evil and you have offended God.

Stop thinking about it, that is repenting. It may never happen. Just try not to do it again.

There’s no math involved. Just stop your sin. Avoid chances to fall (be close to people, pray, play games, unglue face from computer screen, etc.

Ok. I definitely do understand what is meant by repentance. Personally i’ve been to many confessions before and although I must say it is helpful and good to go I wouldn’t say it is necessary to be completely forgiven by God. Repentance is more than just confession it also includes the penances and patience necessary which I think is by far more important than just going to confession. What is really worrying me and concerning me about the question i’ve asked is that I am currently on my way to get rid of watching any pornography in the future, however because I am still in the early stages of getting out of a past pornography addiction there is always a higher risk that I relapse and briefly fall back into the sin. After witnessing and living through the effects and consequences that viewing porn for roughly 10-15 seconds had on my soul I have experienced about a week or longer of extreme disfunctionality (barely able to get out of bed and get things done) and I can’t imagine how my life would be if I were to get a job right now under those conditions. I mean I would most probably (I am certain of this) get fired from my job because of the effects 10-15 seconds of watching porn (outside the workplace of course) would have on my soul and the disfunctionality it creates to my life. Would you get fired from your job for the same reasons? Do you have absolute certainty?
