My baby is almost 5 weeks old and my c-section scar is STILL sore. How long does this last??? It’s better than it used to be - it doesn’t hurt to laugh or cough anymore and I can walk around, clean, drive, etc. There’s just this soreness that’s always there, and even something brushing against it lightly hurts. When does this end?

With my first c/s (after 13 hrs of hard pitocin-induced labor) I was pretty sore for at least a couple months. After the 2nd (scheduled) c/s, it was better in just a few weeks. I think it just varies. You should be having a follow-up appointment with your doc next week, right? Make sure to mention it, and have him/her check it out.

Mine was never sore. I was just tired for about a week from loss of blood. You might want to ask your doctor.

I think my was no longer sore after about 6 or 7 weeks. It does differ for everyone. Are you on pain medication anymore? I was on motrin until about 5 weeks. Are you taking it easy still??

I didn’t have a C-section, but after knee surgery the scar was sore for about 8-9 weeks.

At 5 weeks, you are still healing. C/S is major surgery. ((((hug))))

If you are concerned about pain, please consult your doctor for appropriate medical advice.
