whats a general brakedown of how long it takes to become a priest? (ex. how many years must be spent doing this…and how many for that?)im considering the preisthood and am curious.
After four years of college, there are four years of theology. There may also be some time spent studying philosophy, depending on the person’s educational background. Some dioceses and some religious orders require more time. The Western province of the Dominican Oder to which I belong requires eight years of formation after college.
The time goes by quickly and is time well spent.
