How long will we be in Purgatory?

We are hoping some day to go to Heaven. But to get to Heaven we must be as close to Jesus as are the Saints. Most of us if not 98.5% will end up in Purgatory. If I may refer to Fatima when one of the children asked Mary our Mother that she had a cousin would her cousin go to Heaven. Mary answered that her cousin would be in Purgatory till the end of the world. That seems a long time to spend in Purgatory.
