what was so insightful about it? in the end, they got their way.
 
my opinion…they lived how they wanted for YEARS.
Not careing what the church taught. As long as they got their way.
When the first husband bit the dust, they come running back…
True contrition? I think not.

Not exactly, they were not able to share in the full communion or other sacrements with their home church
 
exactly…they wanted to still be married to each other and perpetuate their sin.
but when the first spouse died they come running back.

read what is wrote. they were already begining the annulment process before the husband died, so no they did not come running back after the death of the first husband.Also you failed to note the live as brother and sister part.
