This is a short quote from a study by 2008 Presentation Ministries. It was not all that long ago that this mass murder was not even technologically possible. The numbers seem astonishing but also seem to make sense. What kind of world have we created?

“There are well over 12 million pregnancies per year in the USA. The actual number of pregnancies may be 3-5 million higher. However, we cannot obtain exact figures, primarily because of early abortions resulting from use of “the pill,” Norplant, Depo-Provera, the IUD, and other abortifacient “contraceptives.” But it is safe to say that over 12 million pregnancies occur per year in the USA. Three million of these pregnancies result in normal birth. One and one-half million are surgically aborted. This means that at least 7½ million babies are chemically aborted annually in the USA, depending on how many pregnancies and miscarriages there actually are. Thus, three out of four (or possibly four out of five) babies are killed by their parents through abortion each year in the USA alone. In the over twenty years of legalized abortion in the USA, there are at least 200 million new “Holy Innocents” (see Mt 2:16), children who have been killed by abortion”.

Hmm… This would be difficult due to the lack of solid stats.
The United States has a population of something that is much higher than 12 million.
~305 million by estimates according to Wikipedia.

Now, it takes 2 people to have sex, so round that down to 150 million people.

I would believe that the company probably figured out the chance of getting pregnant in comparison to the number of people actively having sex (like taken via a survey and extrapolating to the population). Then with the same survey you could figure out how many are contracepting via the pill, and you’re going to have your stat for contraception.

Then you find out how many babies are born, and how many are aborted.

Let a = the number of pregnancies
let b = number of babies born
let c = number of babies aborted clinicly
let d = number of babies estimated killed through chemical abortion.

a - b -c = d

So you may have to do some leg work to check their numbers.

I wonder though. Out of the 350 million how many are above and below the age of child bearing? Of those left, how many are single and not engaged in sex. You could go on and on with that really.

The numbers seem to fall into line to me.

Mmmm.
The people are having fewer children than they used to be, I think most of the population would be between the ages of child rearing. But I’m not going to try to defend a stat that I haven’t made or studied.

Me neither. But anyway, that’s not why I posted. It may be, who knows, 25% high or 25% low. Whatever!

Its mass murder on a scale unheard of in all of human experience. Absolutely incomprehensible.

Agreed?

I would suggest trying to contact the page to see if they calculated the variance or the standard deviation (standard deviation is the square root of the variance if they have it).
But a survey should have one or the other, that would help you with their information.

I regard almost all statistics with suspicion. Unless they cite their sources exactly, and show me the math, I’m not going to take them as absolute.

Even Conall’s very good math would have to be supported by real numbers.

To arrive at his a, you’d have to have a good, verifiable number of how many times sex results in pregnancy. Has anyone ever studied that? It varies so widely, based on how fertile the two partners are. I know a woman who can tell you which method of birth control “failed” for each of her seven, beloved but accidental children - and I also know a woman who had unprotected sex many times and never became pregnant.

So the best you could come up with would be an average - and even that would assume that none of the subjects lied about how many times they had sex!

I think the numbers are horrendous enough without trying to include the ones aborted by ABC.
