Hello all!

I have just recently been tested for diabetes. Thankfully it doesn’t look like I have diabetes yet, even though it runs in my family, but I have P.C.O.S… I’m not happy about this because recently I was told that if I don’t loose weight and get my back better I won’t be able to be a religious sister and I know I have the call. Its just the matter of me finding the right order to join and living the single life a little, finish college and see the world some too.

I am also ADHD and have a bad back, allergies and now this P.C.O.S. how many problems can I have and still enter a community. All I can think about is Mother Angelica’s story and how she had one issue after another and made it, because it was God’s will, but I still have my doubts that I won’t be excepted.

Are you able to work and function without dificulty? I’m not sure what the requirements are for the different orders, but I would say as along as your health issues are not dibilitating it should be fine.
I have a heart condition and some mild bone problems, but neither is dibilitating. Their both controlled with medication.

Eliminate all refined sugar (ALL refined sugar!) and see where you are in 1 year!

Obesity is turning out to be a major health risk factor like smoking and alcoholism and HIV. Your ‘pre-diabetes’ and back problems are probably related to your weight.

By the same token, if you cruise orders’ websites, you will see many overweight women entering and taking vows. So weight doesn’t appear to be a hindrance to entry in many communities.
