It’s good silly. I’m so excited that my family is Catholic. We have the most awsome prayer corner anyone could ever ask for. All my wifes doing… Huge crucifix, large Mary holding baby statue, candles, thuribul, Holy Spirit from St. Peter’s Basilica photo, sacred heart of Jesus, Immaculate Heart of Mary, Michael Angelo’s painint of God touching Adam’s fingertip. Vironica’s vail paining. About 7 rosaries, 1 giant rosary I carved in high school for my dad, who is now gone into eternity [very traditional Catholic] And that’s just where I’m sitting right now. Above is the “Prodical Son” Rembrandt. Dining we have the Last Supper and my wife has an arrangement of Mary with baby and several angels on another table. Then we get into the other huge St. Francis of Assisi statues and her collection of crosses which includes the San Damiano Cross. And this is just in the living room. Our bedroom is Marian, with the “Road to Emmaus”, and several other pictures of Jesus and Joseph holding the baby Jesus. My wife just went crazy. I love it.
And books and clothing…that’s a whole new thread. When I was Protestant, I donated most of my huge library of study aids, several commentaries, concordances, Lexicons, Historical books, Josephus, Philo, Catholic bible, LOTH, Childrens VCR Christian tapes, etc. Bet you protestants didn’t know that? Have you ever read Josephus or Philo? Interesting stuff. I have a collection of bibles that would put any preacher to shame. Read them too, including my Greek New Testament. I donated the Hebrew stuff. I’m not versed in Hebrew, but I’d love to dig into it one day when I have time. My main thing is church fathers and apologetics. I’m preparing a conversion story to share one day when the time is right. But my family is still in hiding from my Protestant family that will not receive our conversion well at all.
In spite of that, I’ve never been this happy before. My wife has never been this happy before. It’s not just for show either. We pray contantly in this house. I recited the Liturgy of the Hours and the Divine Office daily. She goes my the Magnificat and we both say the rosary throughout the week. We get to go to adoration in our oratory, nearly perpetual. It’s very awsome. I’m returning to faith formation slowly, but short of where I once held honor in humility as a seminarian. God has opened up the door for me again. I’ve learned so much and am bringing back an enormous lesson and knowledge of scripture back to the Catholic Church that is actually being tapped into these days. CCD teacher. RCIA sponsor. I’m a 3rd degree Knight and have been asked to participate on a committee to begin a new Council. EMHC, whic I’d gladly give up for deacons or priests. But if the Church is going to allow the motly crew that participate now, why not me…I know how to show respect for the Eucharist and keep other EMHC’s in line. May end up becoming a Sacrastine or ask to be a Acolite again like when I was in the seminary.
Enough?
