How many of us can move forward by putting the past behind us?

There is a wonderful story on this link for all us to reflect upon and it deals with truly forgiving another before we can move forward. In this New Year have we or can we do this ourselves? I think for many of us it is quite the struggle. Perhaps this article can give some new insight to some of us.

That was a wonderful story except it was too bad that he did not have it in him to forgive. I spent a good part of my life in that mode and it was very destructive especially to me and my family. I had to finally look to the Lord to get all of those resentments out of my systems, It took a lot of effort, prayer, masses, confessions, etc. in order to do so, I now do not have any resentments at all in my heart for anyone. As a result, my self-destructive behavior went away . It is the only way to live! Who am I not to forgive, if the Lord can forgive all, right?
