How many of you are alone this holiday weekend?

Yes, agreed! šŸ‘

I’ve always kind of lumped all the deceased into memorial day. Like a day to remember all who have died. I guess it’s because I grew up protestant, we didn’t have an all saints/all souls day. šŸ˜›
Well, I don’t know where you live but here in the US, Memorial Day is for veterans or soldiers who have fought and died for our country. Not for saints. šŸ˜‰

The Memorial Day holiday has been so twisted to have lost all meaning of it’s original intent to be honest.

If you want to celebrate, really celebrate, Memorial day, go to your local cemetary or mosoleum and place an AMerican flag at the grave site of an American veteran.

Memorial Day is about, or should be about, it’s original intent (much like Christmas and Easter IMO). Honor those who died in war to service to our country.

THAT IS MEMORIAL DAY!
<3 šŸ‘

However you spend it, whatever you do, God’s love and care is always with you. Many have sacrificed their lives for the freedom we enjoy. Let us remember them in prayer this Memorial Day. God bless.

I love museums! What kind of work do you do? Or are you talking housework? 😃
I work in marketing for a big telecommunications company. I’ll probably be working remotely from home on Monday for a bit. May need to do some housework, too. God knows my apartment needs some cleaning.

I lost my beloved daughter, my only child, two years ago at age 23. It was just ā€œher and meā€, had to be that way. I gave up pretty much everything. ā€œFriendsā€ deserted me after her death. I am definitely ALONE and expect that won’t change. Luckily, I was an only child, but this is not an easy road.

You are never alone! God is with you! And you have us here on the forum!! Welcome to the club!! 😃

Since I am now middle aged and experienced a divorce last year, I usually do not have anyone around when I am not at work, and most friends have moved away. I have begun to grow accustomed to the solitude, though I do have bouts of loneliness on occasion. Therefore this weekend will probably not be any different than the norm.

However, the wonders never cease to amaze me, perhaps this weekend will be different.

I, too, am alone this weekend. There’s only my cat. I have a few friends I could call, but they are busy with their families. Which makes the situation really stink.

Well, you never know! Miracles can happen. For I have seen them in my own life. In the quiet little way like Saint Therese.

I love cats! What kind of cat do you have?? I used to have a calico. I sure miss him!

I am housesitting/catsitting 2 cats this weekend. They are good company, very entertaining and don’t complain about anything so it’s a pleasant task.

I saw recebntly a post in Facebook which said ā€œLoliness is god’s cry for friendship with himā€

O Raphael, lead us towards those we are waiting for, those who are waiting for us! Raphael, Angel of Happy Meetings and Catholic singles, lead us by the hand towards those we are looking for! May all our movements, all their movements, be guided by your Light and transfigured by your Joy. Angel Guide of Tobias, lay the request we now address to you at the feet of Him on whose unveiled Face you are privileged to gaze. Lonely and tired, crushed by the separations and sorrows of earth, we feel the need of calling to you and of pleading for the protection of your wings, so that we may not be as strangers in the Province of Joy, all ignorant of the concerns of our country. Remember the weak, you who are strong–you whose home lies beyond the region of thunder, in a land that is always peaceful, always serene, and bright with the resplendent glory of God. Amen.

I’m alone this weekend, but I am kind of glad.

I have been sick and I am happy to just rest and catch up on paperwork.

So far, I am getting better while being incredibly productive.

I can be either an introvert and extrovert? What is Sims?? Oh gosh, another ball watcher!! :ouch: 😃 You and Kendra will get along just fine talking sports!!
Sims is short for simulation. Electronic Arts in the US puts out the Sims computer games, which include SimCity (run your own city), Sims 3 and Sims Medieval (run your own characters’ lives), and SimSocial for Facebook. For more information, see ea.com

So glad to see this thread…I’m alone now, too, for the rest of the weekend…prayers for a peaceful and restorative one for all of you out there who are also alone :signofcross: :blessyou: :hug3:
