There are 2 prayer groups at my church weekly that we pray 4 each other and the world.

Do you attend prayer groups. ?

What form of prayer do you use?

I do not attend any ‘prayer groups’. I pray with my Carmelite community once a month (LotH, Lectio Divina), with a Carmelite formation group once a month (LotH, Lectio Divina), with my best friend at least once a week (LotH, Rosary), and I go to our Adoration Chapel about 5 times a week for 1-2 hours each visit (silent adoration). I also go to Mass with a whole lot of people once a week, usually on Sunday (Holy Sacrifice of the Mass).

There is a prayer group at one of my churches that prays for about an hour including Rosary, Divine Mercy and other prayers, right after the 8 am Mass. I go to that one when I can. I travel a lot so it’s not always possible.

I joined Fr. Heilman’s online prayer group that sponsors novenas for the United States and ending abortion, etc. Online is very convenient as I can join from anywhere and the meditations are on Facebook every day.

My biggest problem with physical prayer groups is they often seem to change their schedule and the change is not printed on the parish website or bulletin - the group just tells its regulars by word of mouth - so those of us who want to just drop in and pray show up and find nothing happening.

I go to a non-Catholic one as my parish doesn’t appear to have one. It’s fairly informal, we pray as a group about whatever is on our minds.

@almost2 Great questions!

I don’t attend any prayer groups. Mainly as my side of the inner city is quite lacking, and I don’t have the time or resources to travel 30-40 minutes one way or start something myself.

Perhaps, if we move, this could change! :+1:t2:

None. The biggest group of prayer is Mass and Adoration, packed weekly.

None. Like @pianistclare, I pray in community at Mass (5-6 times weekly in my case) and adore the Blessed Sacrament (at least once a week for two hours).

We do have prayer groups in the sense the OP appears to mean, but I don’t participate in them because outside of the Mass I don’t pray in French, and I have no idea how I would find the time for it anyway.

In addition to my daily Mass & Adoration, I attend my weekly Legion Of Mary Prayer Group. Also, there is my monthly Third Order Group.

Well, now that I think about it, we as a staff (with our Pastor) pray the liturgy of the hours together. I just don’t think of it as a “group” but a good policy, LOL

Of course your parish does. It’s called daily Mass :). The highest most perfect form of group prayer.

Perfect. After Mass, the Office is the second greatest form of group prayer :).
