You just proved to me that you don’t know your history. The UMC merger with another denomination was in 1968. And John Wesley would probably take “ecclesial community” as a compliment, since American Methodism started by accident… and default. There were no Anglican bishops, much less bishops of any kind, during colonization. If I am not mistaken, John Carroll was the first Catholic bishop in the US, but that wasn’t until 1789.

Reading the rest of your responses on this thread lead me to believe that you are a noisy gong and clanging cymbal, and quite possibly not even Catholic - I suspect you’re just a Catholic poser.

The problem with that statement is that it is a generalization that does not hold true to all Protestant faiths. I don’t know what “model” you are referring to other than the model that some Catholics use to paint all Protestants with the same brush.

I don’t think Protestants have a monopoly on ignorance.
