Wow for me too. That’s one over-zealous priest. He would not play well in my parish, that’s for sure 🙂

I agree! Lots of unknown factors.

Did he know everyone that he was “ordering” to kneel?

What if some were non-Catholics and just visiting, or their with their Catholic spouse?

Or found kneeling too painful?

I’m sure he had good intentions, and it was probably fine, especially if it was a small parish where everyone knew each other.

I would just be so surprised by that!

I’m sorry I cant find it on the EWTN site. The radio show they list as being aired at the time I heard Fr Larry this morning is something else, so it must have been my local station. If I can find the audio or video, I’ll post it here for you.

This priest was quite aggressive. HAHA. He hunted everyone down who wasn’t already kneeling and made sure they kneeled and prayed.
NObody expects the Kneeling Inquisition!

Though I’ll agree with others that it seems overzealous. Were there circumstances at your parish that made it more expected?

As a side note, when you enter the pew, kneel and pray.
I do see some people do this, perhaps even most, but not everyone. I had no idea it was considered mandatory. I’ve never done it myself as I have to save my knees for later on. 🙂

LOL! I don’t think so? I think this priest was just very, very over zealous.

Personally as scary as he was, I also kind of enjoyed him. He gave fiery homilies and had NO problem telling people what they were supposed to be doing. It was kind of refreshing.

Any time that you pass in front of the Blessed Sacrament you should genuflect.
